Approval of the 2025-2026 Additional Textbook & Instructional Materials
The Board approved a variety of additional textbook and instructional material requests for the 2025-26 school year. District funded texts and software expenditures are expected to increase by $927.50 bringing the total requested for the 2025-26 school year to $66,105.15.
Approval of Extended Summer Contracts
The Board approved summer extended contracts for select certified staff to support critical tasks related to student scheduling, registration, prevention programming, post-secondary planning, special education services, and athletic program coordination. These extended workdays will allow staff to close out the 2024–2025 school year and prepare for the start of the 2025–2026 school year by addressing student transitions, program planning, compliance requirements, and event scheduling, as discussed at the April 21, 2025, meeting.
Approval of the Summer Reading List
The Board reviewed and offered input toward the 2025 Summer Reading List, which was developed by the Summer Reading Committee. In order to understand student reading habits and interests for summer reading, the committee administered a survey, and the feedback helped inform the types of books that were selected.

Approval of the DWC/LADSE Resolution
LTHS is a member district of the DuPage/West Cook (DWC) Regional Special Education Association, which consists of 92 member districts. The Board approved amendments to the DuPage West Cook Intergovernmental Agreement that eliminate the formal Board and have it instead serve as an Oversight Committee. LADSE serves as our representative to DWC, and LADSE also serves as the representative for all 15 members of LADSE. The DWC Board has been critical in developing programming for the needs of Deaf and Hard of Hearing and Visually Impaired students within our region. Through the last several years, the DWC Board has transitioned from overseeing the daily operations of the programs (approving the budget, hiring of staff, assessing fees) to an advisory and informational Board. The aforementioned duties are now the responsibility of the Boards directly overseeing these programs. In LT’s case, that is LADSE. DWC does not maintain any assets or liabilities and does not collect assessments from its member districts.
Approval of Superintendent Contract
The Board approved an updated employment contract with Superintendent, Dr. Brian Waterman. During the annual superintendent evaluation process, the Board determined Dr. Waterman met the performance and improvement goals outlined in his contract and tied to the district’s strategic plan. With guidance from the Board’s recently retained legal counsel, this new contract spans July 2025 through June 2030.
