The winner of this election will serve a five-year term of office from January 1, 2017, through December 31, 2021.  Refer to the dedicated 2016 Board Elections page of IMRF's website for additional Executive Trustee election information .

There is no Employee Trustee election, as current Employee Trustee Alex Wallace, Jr., of the Oswego Community Unit School District 308, is unopposed.
OneTwo AA Manual Sections Clarified
Two sections of the Manual for Authorized Agents have been clarified and are now available for review.

Section 3.96T, Educational and Public Labor Relations Act Retroactive Payments, and Section 3.96U, Back Pay Other Than Illinois Labor Relations Acts, have been enhanced to better explain what IMRF earnings are in relation to salary settlements, back pay, and other settlements.

All Authorized Agents are encouraged to review the enhanced sections of the AA Manual for reference.
ThreeEndorsed Insurance Video Series Grows
IMRF continues to expand its Endorsed Insurance Program Video Series with another new release outlining the endorsed health insurance plans available to retirees.

This new release focuses on medical plans for IMRF retirees under age 65. The video addresses several factors members should consider when comparing insurance available through a former employer to insurance offered through IMRF's endorsed plans. Topics include coverage and premiums, doctors, and the enrollment process.

IMRF's endorsed health insurance plans are available through a program administered by IMRF's partner, Doyle Rowe LTD. For more information about the endorsed health plans, IMRF retirees may directly contact the Doyle Rowe LTD Endorsed Plan Hotline, 1-800-564-7227, or visit Doyle Rowe LTD's website, dedicated to IMRF retirees:
FourNovember Employer Reminder:
IMRF and independent contractors
An IMRF employer cannot simply designate an employee as an independent contractor. A worker is either an employee or an independent contractor based on the facts of the relationship between the employer and the worker.

Review the classification standards, and the potential IRS penalties for incorrectly classifying an employee as an independent contractor, in the November Employer Reminder.
