Greater Anaheim SELPA Local Plan and Joint Powers Agreement
Cypress School District is a member of the Greater Anaheim Special Education Local Plan Area (GASELPA) which provides programs and services for students with disabilities. The Board approved an updated GASELPA Local Plan describing the special education services provided to member school districts and a Joint Powers Agency Agreement detailing governance and administration of the GASELPA organization.
Summer Program Services by Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Anaheim-Cypress
The Board approved a Memorandum of Understanding with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Anaheim-Cypress to provide on-campus activities and supervision for participants in the district’s expanded learning program that will be offered to income-eligible students during the summer. The cost will not exceed $150,000 and will be paid from Expanded Learning Opportunities Program funding from the state of California.
Recognition of Certificated and Classified Employees
Resolutions designating May 11, 2022, as Day of the Teacher and May 16-20, 2022, as Classified School Employee Week were adopted to honor the district's certificated and classified employees for their dedicated service.
Management Substitute Salary Schedule
The Board approved a new management substitute salary schedule which will allow the district to hire substitutes to fill temporary principal vacancies.
Biennial GASB 74/75 Actuarial Valuation Study
Governmental Accounting Standards Board Statement No. 74/75 (GASB 74/75) requires a biennial calculation of present district liability for future non-pension benefits for employees and retirees. The Board approved an agreement with Total Compensation Systems, Inc. to perform this study at a cost of $9,585.
Swain MOTT Alterations Project
A Notice of Completion was approved for the 2021 Swain MOTT Alterations Project by M.P. South at a total cost of $3,316,208.37.
Board Compensation for Missed Meeting
Per Board Bylaw 9250, the Board must take action to authorize full compensation for any Board Member who was absent from a meeting. Resolution No. 21/22-12 was adopted authorizing full compensation for the month of January for Trustee Sandra Lee, who was unable to attend the January 13, 2022, Board meeting.

The Board adopted an updated Cypress School District Governance Handbook developed during a Board governance workshop held on March 12, 2022.
