Consent Agenda
The Board approved a number of routine consent items, including gifts and grants to the district, Human Resources transactions, purchase orders and checks, and contract renewals. Details regarding these items can be found in the Board meeting agenda.
English Language Development Program
The Board approved contracting with Summit K12 to pilot their Connect to Literacy English language development program with 30 English learner students in grades K-5 through June 30, 2025, at a total cost of $2,055.
Collective Bargaining with Association of Cypress Teachers
A public hearing was held regarding the district’s bargaining proposal to the Association of Cypress Teachers for 2024/25 which includes wages, hours of employment, health and welfare benefits, leaves, class size, and procedures to be used for the evaluation of certificated employees. No speakers addressed the Board during the public hearing, and the Board subsequently voted to adopt the proposal.
Revised Job Descriptions and Salary Adjustments
As part of the district’s ongoing position classification review process, job descriptions are reviewed and salaries are compared with similar positions in neighboring elementary school districts. The Board approved revised job descriptions and salary adjustments for the following: Fiscal Services Coordinator (Confidential) with a 6% salary increase, Executive Assistant to Superintendent (Confidential) with a 6% salary increase, and Administrative Secretary (Confidential) with a 7% salary increase effective December 1, 2024.
Teacher Induction Program
A Memorandum of Understanding with the Orange County Superintendent of Schools was ratified for administration of the 2024/25 Teacher Induction Program at no cost to the district.
Work Order Software
The Board approved contracting with Zoho Corporation for replacement of the district’s current work order software with Zoho Desk Professional Edition for a one-year term through November 14, 2025, at a total cost of $2,980.80.
Computer Equipment Purchase
New computer equipment is required across the district to replace end-of-life computers that will not update to Windows 11. The Board authorized purchasing this equipment, at a cost not to exceed $200,000, using an Irvine Unified School District bid with CDW-G.
Arnold Transitional Kindergarten Restroom Addition Project Inspector Services
A certified Inspector of Record is required by the Division of the State Architect to monitor on-site work for the Arnold Transitional Kindergarten Restroom Addition Project. The Board approved an agreement with AW Industries for these services at a cost not to exceed $19,000.
Annual Organizational Meeting
As required by Education Code, the Board identified Monday, December 16, 2024, at 7:00 p.m., as the date and time for its annual organizational meeting. At this meeting, the Board elects officers and committee representatives and sets the schedule of meetings for the upcoming calendar year.
