University Affiliation Agreement
The district partners with various institutions of higher education to provide fieldwork experience to their students. This month, the Board approved an affiliation agreement with Loma Linda University for
speech and dietetic program students from October 12, 2018, through October 11, 2023.
King 2018/19 Single Plan for Student Achievement
Education Code requires that schools participating in programs funded through the state's consolidated application process develop a Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA) identifying goals for improving student achievement and addressing how funds will be used to improve academic performance. The Board approved the 2018/19 SPSA for Clara J. King Elementary School.
Revised 2018/19 and 2019/20 Academic Calendars
Revised academic calendars, adding Open House and Back-to-School Night dates, were approved by the Board. The updated calendars are available on the district's
website.
Completion of Landell Play Area Projects
In April 2018, the Board approved contracting with Dave Bang Associates for the installation of new play equipment and rubber surfacing at Landell. Both projects were completed at a total cost of $148,339.42, and the Board authorized filing notices of completion with the County of Orange.
Lighting Renovation Project at Landell
The Board approved contracting with M.P. South, Inc., for replacement of outdated lighting at Landell. The total cost of $47,003.78 is based on a previously awarded unit price bid master agreement and will be paid from Proposition 39 funding.
Budget Plan for 2018/19 One-Time Proposition 98 Discretionary Funding
The Board approved the following budget plan for $706,000 in one-time discretionary funding from the state for 2018/19:
Technology Equipment (SMART Boards & Mobile Devices) - $665,000
Professional Development (Induction Program & Teacher Support) - $41,000
