Board of Trustees held on October 8, 2020
Strong Workforce Program K12 Pathway Improvement Grant
The Board approved the district’s participation in the second round of the state’s Strong Workforce Program K12 Pathway Improvement Grant program. The first round focused on learning opportunities leading to career paths for students. Under the second round, which focuses on automation and business/entrepreneurship, the district will receive up to $30,000 in grant funding through December 31, 2022.

Employee Health Insurance
The district contracts with the California Schools Voluntary Employees Benefits Association (VEBA) for its employee health insurance. The Board approved renewing a contract with VEBA for the upcoming 2021 plan year. The renewal rates reflect the following increases from 2020: Kaiser HMO +6.49%, United Healthcare HMO +2.86%, United Healthcare PPO +4.82%. 
Williams Legislation Uniform Complaints, First Quarter 2020/21
The Board received a report indicating the district received no complaints during the first quarter of the 2020/21 school year regarding deficiencies related to instructional materials, emergency or urgent facilities conditions that pose a threat to the health and safety of pupils or staff, or teacher vacancy or misassignment.

Process for Electing Board Officers
The Board reviewed its process for annually electing Board officers, which takes place during the organizational meeting in December.
