ACTIONS
Board Adopts Resolution Authorizing Lease
of Real Property

The board unanimously approved resolution #21-01 authorizing lease of certain real property located on the Napa Valley College Upper Valley Campus to the City of St. Helena for municipal purposes. Asst. Superintendent/VP Bob Parker provided a brief overview, noting that this resolution begins the process and the resolution will be advertised for three consecutive weeks in the local newspaper. This item will return to the board in February, when they will be asked to approve a resolution authorizing staff to enter into an agreement with the City of St. Helena.

Board chair Jennifer Baker made the following appointments for 2021:

Board Appointments to College Foundations

The Board of Trustees appoints representatives to two boards of directors for college auxiliary organizations, Viticulture and Winery Technology Foundation and District Auxiliary Services Foundation, and to the Napa Valley College Foundation board.

Board chair Jennifer Baker made the following appointments for 2021:

  • District Auxiliary Services Foundation: Kyle Iverson
  • Viticulture & Winery Foundation: Michael Baldini
  • Napa Valley College Foundation: Kyle Iverson
Agreements Approved
The Board of Trustees approved agreements with:

DynTek Services, Inc.: to provide IT support for campus migration to Office 365 and to provide general support to address IT issues on campus (including Single Sign On or "SSO" response time).
Board Reviews Board Policies

The Napa Valley College District continues to update and revise its Board Policy Manual with the assistance of the Community College of California (CCLC) Policy and Procedure Service. This was the first reading of BP 4020 and BP 4029.

Napa Valley College Foundation Executive Director Jessica Thomason Provides Update on Foundation

Napa Valley College Foundation executive director Jessica Thomason provided an update on the foundation, its accomplishments in 2020-2021, advancement activities and plans to reignite the Wine Education Center campaign. Jessica started in an interim position in April and took the helm as executive director in July.
