Board Meeting Re-cap

The Fairview Park Board of Education held a Special Board Meeting and Board Retreat for leadership training on Saturday, June 6, 2020 beginning at 9 a.m. in the cafeteria at Fairview High School.

The meeting was streamed to the district BoxCast channel .

The Board Training session was led by Mr. Paul Pendleton of Finding Leaders . Finding Leaders is an organization that provides Boards of Education throughout Ohio assistance with leadership & board development, executive searches, and strategic planning. The Fairview Park City Schools Board of Education has contracted with Finding Leaders multiple times in the past to provide board training and to assist with executive searches. The agenda for the training portion of the special meeting was as follows:

  4. Norms of Operations for the Fairview Board of Education
  5. Superintendent and Treasurer Evaluations Process

  9. Plus/Delta Evaluation

Dr. Bill Wagner, Superintendent, provided an update on the Reimagine Schools Task Force, and shared several documents.


The Board held one Executive Session during the Special Meeting.

Mrs. Kimberly Sperling, Treasurer, provided an update on District Finances, including a review of the five-year forecast , assumptions , and provided November 2020 levy calculations for discussion.

There were no public comments on agenda or non-agenda items.

After the Special Board Meeting/Board Retreat, members of the Board toured the newly renovated Innovation Center, Warrior Room, and classrooms at Fairview High School/Mayer Middle School.
