Newhouse Board Member Seeks to Raise Awareness
As a recent retiree, Dave Stadler wanted to spend more of his time serving the local community. At the advice of a former colleague, Dave toured Newhouse and saw its impact. He enjoyed spending time with the staff and learning about their dedication to the programming. He found it difficult but motivating to meet individuals who do not feel safe in their own homes – especially children coming from a violent environment. " If we don't break the cycle, more kids will go into the world believing this is normal ." Soon after his initial visit, Dave decided to join the Newhouse Board of Directors.
Bump, Set, Spike... Success!
In its first year, our friendly volleyball competition to benefit Newhouse raised over $6,000. Over 200 supporters joined to have fun, raise awareness and raise money to support Newhouse's programming.
Celebrating Success at Newhouse
There are a lot of moving pieces behind the scenes to provide the comprehensive services we offer at Newhouse. Paperwork might not be the most exciting thing for funders, but thanks to some grant funding allowing for a member of our team to focus on quality assurance, we have created completely paperless intake procedures which are more efficient and more welcoming to new residents. These efficiencies impact more than just intake – it allows our staff to focus on doing the things they do best, which is providing holistic services to our beneficiaries.
