I fly frequently in the Winter, mostly to boat shows, dealer meetings and design council sessions leaving lots of time to look at my phone pictures. My family and pets comprise 90% of my pictures and most commonly, kids & friends boating over many years. And the older I get, the more I contemplate what's behind me and all that I still look forward to in the future.
Without exception, the most vivid memories are the emotional impressions created by delivering great experiences for others leading me to the conclusion that there's no better Experience Delivery Device than boats. Ask yourself, what other activities allow you to enjoy leisure time together with friends and up to 4 generations of family?
Last week I came across the above picture of Lucy from a previous newsletter. While I suspect she would eventually have access to one of the multiple Whalers owned by her family, her Grandfather decided to start her off in her very own 11' Sport with age-appropriate HP to grow up experiencing the River as his boys did. It's unlikely that the boat will ever leave this family as it's now her Whaler for LIFE!
This speaks to something my friend Mike Joyce continually reminds me: "If you want to be remembered leave memories, not money."
If you haven't yet watched the video "A Good Run, A Boating Story " , take a moment to do so and be reminded of what's truly important and the power of lived experiences.
Happy Holidays ... and here's to creating some great BOATING experiences next Summer!
