restaurant on Friday, June 23 and Saturday, June 24. Bob and Brandon Wahlberg surprised and delighted diners as they greeted fans and posed for photos.
Wahlburgers is one of the newest restaurants in The Avenue area within Broadway at the Beach. Broadway attracts millions of visitors annually and is South Carolina's number one tourist, shopping, dining, and entertainment destination. The Avenue area is a
fun and happening gathering place that
reflects a design inspiration built around a repurposed warehouse district architectural style.
Wahlburgers was founded by Executive Chef Paul Wahlberg, movie star Mark Wahlberg, and Blue Blood's star Donnie Wahlberg, and the
Myrtle Beach restaurant is the first in the Carolinas. The original Wahlburgers in
Hingham, Massachusetts inspired the creation of the A&E reality show which features several members of the Wahlberg family and their guests sharing great food, a few laughs and lots of love.
Both Bob and Brandon regularly appear on the Wahlburgers television show.
Bob, the seventh of nine Wahlberg siblings, still resides in the Boston neighborhood of Dorchester and,
like his star younger brothers, also acts. He appeared in Boston-area blockbusters
Mystic River
,
Gone Baby Gone
,
The Departed
, and
The Equalizer
.
Brandon is the grandson of family matriarch Alma and nephew of the rest of the Wahlberg family. When not appearing on the show, he
works at a warehouse in Boston, but aspires to be a professional actor like his famous uncles
.
"
Brandon and I hang out quite often," says Bob. "We thought it would be fun to take a trip down to Myrtle Beach to check out the area and the new Wahlburgers. We're quite impressed with Broadway at the Beach. It's clear that this is a place that anyone coming to Myrtle Beach just has to visit. Wahlburgers is right in the center of all The Avenue action, and if you stop by, you're going to get some great food and have a fun and memorable experience."
