Dear Friend,
Most people know me as the founder of The Children's Hunger Project along with Sam Jordan, Jean-Yves Clerc, and David Cohen. Although still involved as a lifetime member of the TCHP board in helping to address weekend and summer hunger for local children, I am also involved in developing Aspiration Academy with Sam Jordan and Conrado Martinez plus a host of local community members, which will help to feed and expand the minds of some kids in lower-income communities.
Here is a link to the recent FLORIDA TODAY front-page story about Aspiration Academy thanks to their esteemed writer and Community Issues Columnist, Britt Kennerly.
What is Aspiration Academy?
It's an after-school gathering for students to amplify learning, and an additional way to educate in a robust learning environment. It's also a service to complement the Brevard Public School System experience, as well as a way for children to learn values, take pride in their identity, and enjoy intellectual expansion. Opportunities for learning and growth will abound, and one of our goals is to mentor and coach above grade level students who are growing up in lower-income communities.

We are actively seeking volunteer mentors who want to support this mission to help local schoolchildren.
