"Practice Loose... Paint Loose - Part Three"
Welcome Back to Another BobBlast
Loosen Up!
This is the third and final installment for this series of videos on how I start a "Loosen Up" series of loose and juicy abstract florals. The first two video demos dealt with my Color Wheel combination and abstract sketching.
This BobBlast demo emphasizes the contrast between the background and the floral arrangement - the design shape.
Keep in mind the original color combination:
Dominant is RED
Focal Point is BLUE
Spice Colors are ULTRAMARINE BLUE and KELLY GREEN
I decided to vary my values of the Dominant Color background for the different paint sketches.
I added white to my Dominant Color RED for a lighter background and black to my Dominant Color RED for a darker background... All to augment the flower vase. The background will either be all one, even tone - or my "Rembrandt-Lighting" style of dark to light moving across the background.
Remember, these techniques are how I start loose paint sketching. It sets the tone for my day!
