All I can say is that it is FINALLY SPRING ... and I am Happy
Happy ... Happy!!

You know me.. I am NOT fond of cold weather and the lovely trip to TX and AZ really had me ready for WARM once I got back to Virginia!

This is the view from my front porch. My neighbors John and Becky have a gorgeous Japanese Cherry tree and the amazing Forsythia hedge for me to look at.. Thank you guys!

This INCREDIBLE coffee cup and uber cute card came from my buddy Jackie Kunkel (she was just on the radio show Monday)

She saw it.. sent me a "I'm thinking of you" photo on Facebook.. and then IT arrived in my mail... SWOON worthy!!

Yes.. my coffee budget is gigantic... it makes life more fun.. wink!

I have a fairly new obsession... that is what is super about quilting. We can find new things all the time (and no Jackie .. it is NOT paper piecing .. be sure you listen to the Monday show recording to hear about THAT) ... see the bottom of the newsletter to find out!

Gregg (the shipping Department) asked 'why' I was making such a complicated quilt for myself (it has a lot of parts...).. I said because it's CUTE!

Since the beginning of the year I've have a lot of you ask to do my Brambleberry Friends as a sew along. Guess what? I think the time has come!   This quilt is in my book "New Ideas for Applique". Along with a second color wasy AND many other projects that use the images.

My plan is to start in the Middle of April with the Dragonfly block, as that is the 'April' Block.  If you are one of those 'speedy people' go right ahead and do the others so you will be done at the end of the year. Otherwise this will be a gentle sew along that ends next spring.. perfect right?

The BEST thing about being a quilter is that we can find new obsessions... serious new love. Be it a technique, a style of fabric or some new tool or technique. For me I've been intrigued by CHARM PACKS lately!
They are a bit addictive.. a set of 40 squares all cut 5".  I use them a lot when I am designing. I like to have a charm pack of collections so I can see the whole fabric line and match colors to other fabrics I already have.

Then i have these swatches to work with...that have IMMENSE potential.. you can be SO MUCH MORE
 
Since they are the same size, if you pair them up with a solid or tonal, and make a whole quilt with JUST the HST.. your options are endless!

Lindsay of "The Cottage Mama"  and her Mom made this quilt using my "Eat your Fruits and Veggies" charm pack and a solid!  She is so great to let me share this with you.
