Dear Parishioners and Friends,
The celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day on Monday, January 16th (celebrated to honor his Jan. 15th birthday) provides an opportunity for all the parishes of the Archdiocese of Chicago to reflect on the sin of racism. In April of 2001, Cardinal George issued a pastoral letter on racism, “Dwell In My Love.” He wrote that the face of racism looks different today than it did thirty years ago. Overt racism is easily condemned, but the sin is often with us in subtle forms. In examining patterns of racism today, he identifies four forms that merit particular attention...

Dear St. Patricia Families,
Thank you very much for your donations to our STEM class. As a result of your generosity and kind support, we will be able to continue to expand and grow our STEM classes in 2023.
STEM is an acronym in education that stands for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. STEM learning extends well beyond the classroom and technical fields. It encourages teamwork and collaboration among the students while using their problem-solving skills. It also promotes creativity and out-of-the-box thinking while they research and engineer their topics. The analytical, research, and problem-solving skills they learn in STEM can be applied to any career in their future.
I am grateful for the outpouring of support and donations to the STEM classes. The children enjoy learning, researching, and engineering their creations. I personally want to wish you and your families a Happy New Year and hope everyone enjoyed their Christmas!
Sincerely,
Mrs. “K” - (Kochniarczyk)

Auditions for the play will be held on Tuesday, January 17th, from 3:00 until 6:00 in the school. Please pick up at the Main School Office doors. Tryouts are for speaking/singing roles ONLY. Due to the number of students who tryout, this process takes a long time. Some students will be done much earlier than 6 pm. If possible, please plan so that they can call you for early pickup if necessary. And, obviously, some students will be sitting around waiting to audition for a long time. Please be patient and use your time wisely and quietly.
In the event that callbacks are needed, parents will be contacted via email and/or phone Tuesday evening by 9pm and the full list will be posted by 8 am Wednesday in the lobby of the school. Callbacks – if necessary – will be held the next day, Wednesday, January 18th. The final cast list will be posted by 9 PM Wednesday on the school website and by 8 am Thursday in the school lobby. Drama Club website address is: https://stpatriciaschool.org/student-life/arts-enrichment/drama-club/
