Hi SPS Families,

I hope everyone is having a nice week and I still can't believe we are already in December! Before we know it, we will be celebrating Christmas!

Please join us on Saturday for our annual "Festival of Lights", which will take place right after the 4:00 mass. After mass, we will have a short blessing of the manger that is right by the south side entrance of the church, and then we will all head inside the gym for fun! We will have crafts, games, cookies and hot cocoa, and of course, a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus!

Students in grades 3-8 will be attending our school Advent reconciliation in the church at 1:00 on Monday.

We have a 1:30 dismissal on Tuesday, December 6th. The teachers and I will be listening to a presentation regarding some exciting and new curriculum ideas for next school year.

Also on December 6th, it is St. Nicholas Day! Our Junior Honor Society will go to all of the classrooms, talking with the kids about why we celebrate this day and give a little history on how this day came about. Each student will receive a candy cane from the JHS.

Santa's Secret Workshop returns to SPS on Wednesday, December 7th and will run through Friday, December 9th. The kids get to buy you and your family thoughtful gifts and we will even take care of the wrapping! Please see the attached schedule for when your kids will go to the shop, which will be in the Hospitality Room.

Dear Parishioners,

The Second Sunday of Advent is already upon us! I hope you are all using your Advent Wreath to prepare spiritually for Christmas and be ready for the relatives and friends that you will celebrate with at Christmas.

At the Christmas dinner table, we hopefully sit around a round table. At a round table, those seated really have to look at each other. With an oblong table, you can ignore most of the people. By really looking at someone, it can change our perception of that person. We are not looking down at them but are making a connection to them.

True humility leads us to community. God is the source of all that is, and everything we have comes from God. No one is better than anyone else in God’s eyes. All are equal...

5th Grade DARE Graduation

For the past 10 weeks, the 5th grade class has been working hard on learning about making positive choices, respecting themselves and others, and choosing to lead lives free from

violence, substance use, and other dangerous behaviors in the DARE program. A special thank you to Officer Franks for his excellent teaching and leadership! Excellent job 5th Grade!

Friday Fun Lunch - January Orders

Friday Fun Lunch is a program that SPS Parent’s Club provides to offer students a lunch option from local restaurants, while fundraising to support our school! For the 2022-23 school, orders can be placed online only. Once you place your order, please send payment to your student’s classroom teacher in an envelope marked with the student’s name and “Friday Fun Lunch.”

There is no milk served on Fridays. Please be sure to send your student a drink from home!

There will be no refunds for any absent students and food will not be saved for when they return to school. Thank you for understanding.

Upcoming Events

Festival of Lights Saturday, December 3rd

Mark your calendars for Saturday, December 3rd! St. Patricia will be hosting our annual Festival of Lights, featuring a special visitor from the North Pole, hot cocoa and cookies, games, and fun for the whole family! The Festival will run directly following 4:00 pm Mass from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm in the Gym.

Volunteer opportunities are available to help decorate the Gym on Friday, Dec. 2nd from 3:00 - 5:30 pm and to help at the event on Dec. 3rd. Bakers - earn volunteer hours by donating delicious cookies! Jr. High/High School students are very welcome to volunteer to help run games and crafts and to serve cookies and cocoa! Sign up below!

Santa's Workshop

Mark your calendars! Santa’s Secret Workshop returns to SPS on Wednesday, December 7th through Friday, December 9th!
