Dear SPS Parents and Family Members,

On Saturday morning, 3/26, the day outside may have been dull, cold, and gray, but inside St. Patricia Church was the bright shining light of the Holy Spirit for all to see and celebrate!
I want to congratulate the Confirmandi of our St. Patricia class of 2022 who received the gifts of the Holy Spirit in the sacrament of Confirmation. Each gift provides strength to grow in faith, to live a life of truth and service, and to be a channel of God’s love and presence in a world needing the life-giving grace of the Holy Spirit. May the Holy Spirit flow into:

Saul Corral, Devin Feliciano, Maksymillian Galik, Sebastian Krzanowski, Nicholas Larson, Zachary Larson, Francesco Levato, Jacob Wroniewski, Kayla Buss, Maria Elena DeLaTorre, Olivia Nalepa, Roxanne Stasch, Valentina Suarez, and Julia Zahradnicek.

Your support as parents and/or sponsors is so important at this time in your son/daughter’s life.
They need your love and guidance…you are their “true north” and can mirror for them the Spirit’s gifts. Never doubt the impact your love and support has on your child. It makes all the difference in their becoming who they are called to be…YOU make that difference!

Around SPS…

Congratulations to our Pre-K through 8th-grade students of the month! This month’s theme was “determination.” We are so proud of you! You exhibited convincing willpower in your school endeavors! Check out their photo below!

The time has arrived! FROZEN JR. opens tonight! I hope you have been anticipating our school play as much as I have! Our student star casts, SWEET and AWESOME, can’t wait for that curtain to open! Finally, their weeks of practice will shine for you on stage and there are record numbers coming each evening! Thank you so very much for your continued support of our SPS Drama Club! Your time, talent, and treasure are deeply appreciated! There are so many outstanding volunteers and parents who are the glue that bonds all the moving parts into one beautiful masterpiece of a production.  Special thanks go to Jessica Scialo, Noreen Campbell, Mike Scialo, Laurie Buss, Will Hilliard, Madi Ingolia, Ana Janczy, Isabella Jucha, and Jenny Kelly. Thanks to Tina Glogowski and Colleen Mazurek in our office, who keep things flowing with the necessary forms, collections, etc. And to a host of so many others who also contribute to enhancing the success of the production…THANK YOU! It takes a village, and in this case, a school community that cares about our students!

For the last 4 weeks, I have been outside in the morning with our student school patrol service. 
We wrap up outside when the bell rings at 8 am. May I ask that you try and arrive on time? Ideally, before the last bell? We are noticing more tardies than usual. Please and thank you!

As I close, I want all of us to be mindful of our Confirmandi receiving the gifts of the Holy Spirit. 
Let me share this reflective thought with you…

As Christians, we are called to build the kingdom. The kingdom is built with our gifts. The gifts we have to give are the fruits of the spirit. Can we all walk together through the remainder of Lent showing the gifts of love, joy, counsel, understanding, patience, peace…just the simple gestures that touch others and speak volumes? This builds the kingdom, our world, one small gesture at a time!

Our Faith in Action
Many blessings to our 8th-grade students who received the sacrament of Confirmation! St. Patricia Parish welcomed the Most Reverend Joseph Perry, Auxiliary Bishop, Archdiocese of Chicago, who administered the Sacrament of Confirmation on Saturday, March 26, 2022.

2022-23 Registration is Now Open!
St. Patricia School has begun to prepare for the 2022-2023 school year and asks our current families for the following information to secure their seats for the upcoming year.

  • Please complete and return the below ReRegistration Form to secure placement for next year
  • Include the non-refundable $200 per family re-registration/commitment fee. This fee is credited to next year’s tuition.
  • You may also register online and pay with a credit card

Please return the form and payment to the school office as soon as possible. Completion and submission of this form and re-registration fee is required for your child(ren)’s enrollment for the upcoming school year. Thank you for your understanding and commitment to Catholic education.

Registration is now open for new and current families. Seats are first-come, first-serve. Please note that our Kindergarten and 1st-grade classes are filling up fast!
Frozen Treat Day - Order Due 4/4/22
Frozen Treat Day, sponsored by SPS Parent's Club, will be on Thursday, April 7th. Please turn all forms and payment into the school office by Monday, April 4th. Thank you!
Monday Hot Lunch - May/June
Orders and payments are due by Monday, April 11th.
Monday Special Lunch, sponsored by SPS Parent's Club, is taking orders for May/June. There are 2 options to order - online or download form and print. Please choose the method that is best for you. Payment is to be submitted to the School Office. Thank you!
Jr. High Trout Field Trip Fundraiser
Support this year's Trout Trip to release the trout! The Jr. High students have been engaged in a long term Life Science project of raising trout from eggs to release in the Spring into a local waterway. Order your Smencils today!

Mom & Son Lego Day
Guys, grab your Mom or Special Guest for an afternoon of all things Legos, hosted by St. Patricia’s Parent’s Club! Characters Lego Emmet, Roblox guy, and Hulk will be there to put on a show, play games with the kids, as well as take pictures. Registration is now open. The cost to attend is $35.00 per couple and $15.00 for each additional son.

Parent Referral Bonus Program
A St. Patricia School family who refers a new family to St. Patricia School is eligible for a one-time $300 referral bonus upon the new family's student(s) enrolling in PreK-8th Grades, completing the school year, and satisfying all financial commitments. Lunch Supervisors
Parents, we need your support! It is through your volunteering efforts that we are able to give our Teachers a well-deserved lunch break in the faculty lounge. Please consider coming and helping out, your time is greatly appreciated!

Lunch supervisors watch classes during lunch and recess. Each day a supervisor works 2 lunch periods, 11:20-11:55 am and 11:55 am- 12:30 pm. The supervisor earns $4.00 per lunch period. If you wish to use this as volunteer hours towards your family's 20 required volunteer hours for the year, you will not be paid for the shift. You may volunteer to work as many days as you like, all are welcomed.

VIRTUS training is required to volunteer. Volunteers will be asked to supervise wherever the need is for their chosen shift. We cannot guarantee you will be placed with your student.

We have added a COVID-19 Dashboard that was created to provide the St. Patricia School community with current information regarding COVID-19 metrics on our school campus and in our surrounding area. Virtus Training
As a reminder, Virtus training is mandatory for all wishing to volunteer at St. Patricia School. This program is required by the Archdiocese of Chicago. If you have any questions, please direct them to the school office. Thank you for your support!
Bobcat Bonanza
Have you joined our Bobcat Bonanza Facebook Raffle Group?

In 2020-21 we raised over $60,000 and used the funds to offer 1:1 Chromebooks to all students K-8th grade. Our 2021 goal is to raise funds toward the renovation of our School Hall (lunchroom) including installing air conditioning in order to expand our after-school enrichment programs by raffling off prizes through our private Bobcat Bonanza Facebook group.
