Bobcat E-Envelope

August 25, 2022

Hi SPS Families,

It has been a great week so far! The kids are back learning in the classrooms, and hopefully, having fun during the day as well! I feel so fortunate to return to SPS and please know that my door is always open in case you need anything.

I mentioned to the staff at one of our meetings last week that I plan to be in all classrooms every day, all school year, to get to know everyone. It has been great getting into all of the classrooms so far this week, talking with the students and teachers, and seeing the great lessons and activities that are going on inside the classrooms. The teachers are outstanding and you can tell right away that they all have a passion for teaching! It truly feels like a family around here!

Our Curriculum Night (Parent Night) is next Tuesday, August 30th, at 6:30. We will start in the gym with a few presentations and then you will have the opportunity to go to your child's/children's classrooms to listen to what your kids will be working on during the school year. It is a great night to get to know the teachers and staff, as well as other families!

Our Parent's Club is sponsoring an ice cream truck for the kids next Monday! This is a free treat for them and the truck will be parked in our parking lot where the students and staff will be able to pick from a variety of ice cream treats. It's a way to celebrate a good first full week back at SPS! Thanks to Annette Wagner for organizing this!

Our first Friday spirit wear day is tomorrow! This will be every Friday during the school year. Any St. Patricia spirit wear shirt, jersey, or sweatshirt can be worn. Students are allowed to wear jeans, sweatpants, leggings, uniform pants or uniform shorts. If you do not have any St Pat's spirit wear yet, students can wear their gym shirt. Any new or current students that have not received any spirit wear or gym clothes yet, can wear something blue tomorrow.

Again, if you need anything, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Thanks!

Summer Building Updates

Over summer break, the hallways at SPS received a fresh coat of paint in Bobcat Blue! Once the hallways were completed, 8th-grade student Glorija R. designed and hand-painted unique Bobcat artwork above some of our key doorways and spaces.  Her artistic efforts were the perfect touch to complete the project!  Thank you Glorija for sharing your talent with SPS!

Lunch Supervisors - Volunteer

Parents, we need your support! It is through your volunteering efforts that we are able to give our Teachers a well-deserved lunch break in the faculty lounge.

Lunch supervisors watch classes during lunch and recess. Each day a supervisor works 2 lunch periods, 11:20-11:55 am and 11:55 am- 12:30 pm. The supervisor earns $8.00 for the full lunch period. If you wish to use this as volunteer hours you will not be paid for the shift. You may volunteer to work as many days as you like, all are welcome.

VIRTUS training is required to volunteer. Volunteers will be asked to supervise wherever the need is for their chosen shift. We cannot guarantee you will be placed with your student. Thank you for support!
