Hi SPS Families,
The classrooms have been busy around the school, with great and fun lessons taking place within the classrooms. One of my favorite parts of this job is going into the classrooms and seeing the teachers and the students having fun together!
Students in K-8 began their i-Ready assessments this week. i-Ready is an online testing system that measures growth in both reading and math and the tests are given three times during the school year. Once the students are completed with each test, teachers and myself receive data that we all will analyze and we will look at student strengths in both reading and math, as well as look at areas that we need to improve. It's a great tool to really help everyone involved and is used in all Archdiocesan schools.
The gym uniforms will arrive here at school early next week and will be delivered to the students to take home. We thank you for your patience with this.
Our Junior Honor Society and Student Council induction ceremony will take place in the church at 1:30 on Tuesday. Parents and families are more than welcome to join us!
Please remember that the tardy bell is at 7:55 so if the kids enter the building after 7:55, they have to stop at the front office for a tardy slip.
Also just a reminder that if you are arriving right at 3:00 or a little after to pick up your kid(s), please be extra vigilant in the parking lot when trying to park, as the kids have a tendency to run to their cars and sometimes aren't vigilant of their surroundings either. Safety is our number one priority and I know we can all work together in making the parking lot procedures safe for everyone.
As always, if you need anything or we can be of assistance in any way, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Thanks!
