THE VOICE

Volume 27 . Issue 12 . December 2025

WHITNEY WHITE

President

2025 has been a long year for all of us. A year that looked back at the years of 45s first administration and said, "Hold my beer." A year that was supposed to be easy because it wasn't an election year has turned out to be a year filled with increasingly appalling behavior by the President and his administration, increasingly unimaginable atrocities committed against citizens and immigrants alike, and increasingly egregious assaults on our "small d" democratic way of life. I think one thing that has sustained us is how we come together for our meetings and our marches and our events. Thank you.

I read somewhere on the internet "Unity is community. Community is power. And that power is with the people." We are that power. So we keep speaking up and standing up and showing up in 2026.

LAURA BRAY

Kendall County Democratic Party Chair

Meet our Democratic Candidate for

Justice of the Peace, Precinct 1 -

Introducing Dr. Adriann Wolfe!

NOTES FROM THE CHAIR

Just before Thanksgiving, we learned that Dr. Adriann Wolfe, a U.S. military veteran and three-year resident of Boerne, plans to run for Justice of the Peace, Precinct 1! Kevin has met with her several times to explain the process, and several others met shortly afterward. She has terrific qualifications and will be a great candidate!

Dr. Wolfe is a proud U.S. military veteran, educator, business consultant, and community leader. She is committed to ensuring the JP court operates with fairness, transparency, and respect for every resident.

With a career rooted in service and advocacy, Dr. Wolfe believes the court should be both firm in justice and compassionate in practice. Her campaign reflects the values of fairness, integrity, and community, with a focus on accessible and accountable local justice.

Stay tuned to this space for more details on Dr. Wolfe and information on her campaign! You can email her with questions at wolfe4jop.p1@gmail.com.

Also: be sure to check out our new Young Democrats of Kendall County group! Make sure to send it to anyone you know in that age group, and contact Leah with any questions.

Founder Skye Perryman (pictured below) spoke to the group about Democracy Forward's goals to leverage the collective power of people and communities to stop the law from being used in regressive ways and to build for a better future. Learn more about Democracy Forward here:

We had a packed house for the November 13 BAD meeting!

Our speaker was Josie Garcia,Texas House District 124. Josie served in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years and is first active duty woman veteran to serve in the Texas House of Representatives. She was an electric speaker and fired up the crowd with her remarks and stories of her life and service!

Over 80 brave souls showed up in Bandera for the Black and White of Fascism protest on November 15! The event was a huge success, with additional support from passers-by and very litttle interference from the very small trump train that kept circling the block.

A good time was had by all at the

November 19 meeting of the BAD Book Club!

Members of Cibolo Creek Indivisible and Boerne Area Democrats pause for a photograph with Rhonda McNeill, Director of Community Programs at Hill Country Family Services, after delivering much needed food, supplies and financial donations. Texas has the highest food insecurity population in the country. One in every six households (about 5.3 million people; 18% of the Texas population) face food insecurity. Many of the affected people are children. The situation has been exacerbated by the shutdown of government food programs and, recently, by the pause in SNAP benefits. Cibolo Creek Indivisible and Boerne Area Democrats urge Americans to support government for all the people. (Left to Right – Susan Dollar, Gary Miller, Rhonda McNeill, Georgia Miller and Lynn Bellow)
