Administrative Appointments
Boise, ID -- 04/12/2022 -- Boise School District announces the following administrative appointments effective for the start of the 2022-2023 school year.
John Bale - Assistant Principal, Frank Church High School

John Bale has served Boise School District students since 1990. During that time he has held a number of positions, including Assistant Principal (Grace Jordan & Shadow Hills elementaries, 2021 to present); basketball and track coach (1990-2021); P.E. teacher (1996 to 2021, K-6 & 9-12); Assistant Summer School Principal Intern (2019, Frank Church Alternative Jr. High School); Elementary Summer School Principal (2020, Grace Jordan Elementary); and Assistant Principal (2021, Alternative Summer High School, West Jr. High). He’s also served students as a Summer Youth Director (2009-2010, Boise State University) and has served as an adjunct faculty member at Boise State University co-instructing Kinesiology Methods from 2001 to 2021.

Mr. Bale has presented at regional and national conferences regarding best practices in physical education, as well as multiple topics leading to successful public school partnerships. In addition, he’s been recognized for his work to mentor new-to-the profession teachers and he has considerable instructional leadership skills and accomplishments in such areas as reading and math intervention.

Mr. Bale is a passionate educator who is well-respected among his colleagues. He believes each and every student can and will learn given appropriate support and encouragement. His positive attitude and commitment to the District’s Vision of preparing students for post-secondary success in college and career and in life, motivates his work and inspires others to achieve their highest potential.

Mr. Bale earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Education K-12 from Boise State University, a Master of Education Degree in Curriculum & Instruction from Lesley University, and an Educational Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Idaho.
Allison Bigham, Assistant Principal, BASE/ASCENT 

Allison Bigham has served students in the Boise School District for over a decade. During this time, she has worked as a Special Education Teacher (Maple Grove Elementary, 2008-2012) (Hawthorne Elementary, 2012-2015); Title 1 Enrichment Facilitator (2015-2020); Right Response Coordinator (2014-2020); Extended School Year Administrator (2016 to present); and Special Education Consulting Teacher (2020 to present).  

Ms. Bigham is a well respected educator who believes each and every student can learn. She has demonstrated experience in incorporating new instructional strategies that support student growth and district initiatives. She is a forward thinking educational leader who provides support to school staff members in a collaborative and nurturing environment that serves the best interest of students.

Ms. Bigham earned a Bachelors of Science Degree in Elementary Education K-8 and a Bachelors of Science Degree in Special Education PreK-12 from the University of Idaho, a Master of Education Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the College of Idaho and an Educational Specialist Degree in Administration from the University of Idaho.
Liz Croy - Assistant Principal, Morley Nelson Elementary School & Supporting STEP
 
Liz Croy has successfully served the students of the Boise School District in a variety of capacities since 2001. She has effectively worked as Assistant Principal (Horizon Elementary School, 2021 to present); Junior High School Assistant Principal (West Junior High - 2012 -2021); Elementary School Principal (Mountain View - 2011-12); Assistant Elementary School Principal (Whittier & Whitney - 2010-11); Elementary School Teacher (Maple Grove - 2009-10; Valley View - 2004-07; Madison - 2001-04); and Elementary Principal Intern (Garfield, Liberty & Riverside - 2007-09).  

In addition, Ms. Croy has served as a District trainer in the Professional Development Core and Look 2 Learning programs. Her work in the Professional Development Core program has provided new teachers to the Boise School District with a clear and comprehensive introduction to the instructional skill set that is the core of the District’s vision for excellence in teaching. 

As an instructional leader, Ms. Croy provides students with equal opportunities to access District programs and achieve success. She believes every student can and will learn, regardless of background, with proper support from the outstanding school staffs she has had the opportunity with whom to work. Ms. Croy praises student success and works to build positive school spirit. She is dedicated to working collaboratively with parents and staff members to see that students succeed both academically and socially.  

Ms. Croy earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education from Boise State University and a Master Degree in Educational Administration from University of Idaho.  
DJ Eberlin - Assistant Principal, Hillside Junior High School

DJ Eberlin has served public school students in Idaho since 2006. During that time, he has worked as Math Teacher and Baseball Coach in the St. Maries School District (St. Maries High School - 2006-2007); Science Teacher and Baseball Coach in the West Ada School District (Mountain View High School - 2007-2014); and Science Teacher in the Boise School District (Borah High School, 2014 to present).  

Mr. Eberlin has demonstrated experience in motivating and involving students in their learning and instilling a belief in faculty and staff that each and every student can be successful in learning. He has written curriculum in the Boise School District, West Ada school District, and has helped the State of Idaho write their science ISAT. He also currently serves on the Idaho ScienceTeacher Association Board as the region 7 representative.

Mr. Eberlin earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry from Albertson College of Idaho; a Master of Education Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Idaho; and an Educational Specialist Degree in Administration from the University of Idaho. 
Jami Fenwick - Assistant Principal, Boise High School

Jami Fenwick has educated Idaho’s public school students since 2010. During that time, she has served as Mathematics Teacher and Dance Program Advisor in the Boise School District and West Ada School District. For the last eleven years, she’s served students at Capital High School, where she works as Marketing Teacher and DECA Advisor, Instructional Lead, Leadership Team Member, Cohort Member and CTE Department Chair.

Ms. Fenwick has successful experience in program management, event planning, marketing, budgeting, communication, organization, scheduling, and leadership. Recently, she was appointed Summer School Administrator for the District’s Traditional High School Summer School program. She has previously served as a fill-in administrator at Capital High School, as well as the Summer School program. Ms. Fenwick is a collaborative instructional leader who works well with students, staff and families, instilling the belief that every student can learn and succeed. She builds strong relationships with a diverse student population and provides the support and professional development necessary for staff members to serve the needs of students.

Ms. Fenwick earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Idaho and a Master of Education Degree from Boise State University. 
Charlene Gimlin, Assistant Principal, Les Bois Junior High School

Charlene Gimlin began her career in education in 1997. She has significant experience serving students as a teacher and as a school administrator in the Boise School District. Her strong belief that every child can learn and succeed in college, career and citizenship will be the foundation by which she will serve the students, parents, teachers and stakeholders of Les Bois Junior High School. 

Ms. Gimlin believes that the most important contributor to students' success is the relational capacity students have with the adults in the school. She will work hard to support a strong school culture that supports students' social and emotional well being. 

She has served as Assistant Principal at Capital High School 2014-present. She taught physical education, health and AVID at West Junior High and Riverglen Junior High. 

Ms. Gimlin earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Education and a Master of Arts Degree in Special Education from Boise State University. Additionally, she has a Specialist Degree from the University of Idaho in School Leadership.
Shannen Hickey - Assistant Principal, Capital High School

Shannen Hickey has taught students in the Boise School District for 25 years. Currently, he serves students as Assistant Principal at Les Bois Junior High School (2020 to present). He previously worked as a junior high school health teacher at West Junior High School (2013 - 2019), where he also served as Athletic Director, AVID Coordinator, and Administrative Designee. He has served as Summer School Elementary Principal (2015), Summer School Assistant Principal (2016-17 - one year at the alternative high school and one year at the traditional high school) and as Alternative High School Summer School Principal (2018). He also served as Intern Assistant Principal at Les Bois Junior High School from January 8th, 2018 through March 2nd, 2018. 

Mr. Hickey is a strong instructional leader who works well with staff, students, parents, and the school community. He is a strong advocate for the work of educational professionals and provides the support necessary to see that students and staff members succeed every day. Mr. Hickey supports Professional Learning Communities and believes the District's PLC program is a great example of time for teachers to look at data-driven accountability. Mr. Hickey has experience meeting with staff members to go through reflection, experimentation, analysis, and lesson design to create stronger teachers which in turn will help with student achievement.

Mr. Hickey believes that every student can learn and achieve at a high degree of academic success. He is committed to the District’s Vision of preparing students for success in college, career and in life. 

Mr. Hickey earned a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Elementary Education from Mount Saint Claire University and a Master of Arts Degree in Education Administration from the University of Idaho.
Regina Hoffman-Flock - Assistant Principal, Whittier Elementary & Supporting Madison Early Childhood Education Center
 
Regina Hoffman-Flock has more than 23-years of teaching and leadership experience. She currently serves as a Special Education Resource Room Teacher (Shadow Hills Elementary, 2013-present). She also worked as a Reading Specialist (Koelsch Elementary, 2008-2012; Mountain View Elementary, 2008-2012); EXCEL Teacher (Mountain View Elementary, 2006-2008, Amity Elementary, 2000-2004); Principal Intern (Maple Grove & Horizon elementary schools, 2004-2006); and Staff Trainer/Behavior Interventionist (1998-2000). 

Also, for the past nine years, she has served as the Administrative Designee at Shadow Hills Elementary School, Chair of the school’s Special Education Team and a member of the school Leadership and PBIS Team.

Mrs. Hoffman-Flock is a compassionate, positive collaborative instructional leader who creates an environment where students and educators love to teach and learn and support each other along the way. She believes each student can learn when given the opportunity and support. 

She earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Secondary Education from Lewis-Clark State College; a Master of Arts Degree in Special Education from Boise State University; and an Educational Specialist Degree from the University of Idaho.

Dan Knight - Assistant Principal, Grace Jordan & Riverside Elementary Schools
 
Dan Knight has served public school students for more than 30 years. During that time, he has worked as a Principal (Albany Options School, Albany, OR); Assistant Principal (South Albany High School, Albany, OR); History Teacher and Event Manager (Woodburn High School, Woodburn, OR); Secondary Social Studies Teacher (Molalla High School, Molalla River, OR); Elementary Physical Education Teacher (Hayesville Elementary School and Rosedale Elementary School, Salem-Keizer, OR); Assistant Principal (Borah High School, Boise School District (2014-15); Assistant Principal (Frank Church High School, Boise School District (2015-18); Assistant Principal, Morley Nelson & Shadow Hills Elementary Schools (2018-2019); Assistant Principal, Horizon Elementary School (2019-2021); and Assistant Principal, Riverside and Amity Elementary Schools (2021 to present).  

Mr. Knight is a collaborative, compassionate, energetic, can-do educator committed to providing an excellent educational program for each and every student. He is committed to seeing that each and every student has the opportunity and support services necessary to learn. He is dedicated to the District’s Vision of preparing students for success in college, career and in life. He has successfully served on School Improvement and Professional Learning Communities in the schools where he's worked to establish an effective culture of academic success. 

Mr. Knight earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from Western Oregon University, a Master of Secondary Education Degree from Western Oregon University, and completed his Continuing Administrative License at the University of Oregon.
Matt Krumm - Assistant Principal, Borah High School

Matt Krumm is currently serving as Assistant Principal at Hillside Junior High School (2015 to present). He previously served as Assistant Principal at Caldwell High School (2012-2015). He worked as a Special Education Behavior Specialist (2006 - 2007), high school teacher (2008-12), and as a summer school principal for the Kuna School District (2011-12). Mr. Krumm taught U.S. History, Psychology, Sociology, Student Government and Special Education. His administrative experience includes student discipline, RTI facilitation, PTE, PLC facilitator, test coordination (SBAC, ISAT and SAT), ISAT-alt assessment, hiring, and building safety.
 
Mr. Krumm is a passionate educator who is dedicated to the success of each and every student. He works collaboratively with students, staff, and parents to increase student achievement through a data driven approach. He is a knowledgeable and respected instructional leader focused on preparing students for continued success in life, college, and career.
 
Mr. Krumm earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology from Boise State University, his Idaho Teaching Certificate from Boise State University and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from the University of Idaho.  
Amanda Kuznia - Assistant Principal, White Pine & Horizon Elementary Schools
 
Amanda Kuznia has served Idaho’s public school students for 14 years. During that time, she has worked as a 4th and 5th grade teacher in the West Ada School District (2008-2012, Spalding Elementary); 6th grade teacher and 5/6 grade teacher (2012-2016, Koelsch Elementary - Boise School District); K-12 Instructional Technology Specialist (2016-2020, Boise School District) and Administrator, Boise Online School (2020 2021, Boise School District); and Assistant Principal, Morley Nelson Elementary School (2021 to present).

Mrs. Kuznia is a well-respected and knowledgeable professional educator who is committed to the Boise School District’s Vision of preparing each and every student for success in college, career and in life. She believes every student can learn. She creates and supports an educational climate of high expectations for student learning and behavior and builds strong relationships with parents through effective school communications. She has significant professional development experience, including, but not limited to, providing Google Training for Educators, Sound Grading Practices, Digital Citizenship and Literature Circles. She has presented at regional, national and international conferences on educational technology and best uses in the classroom. She has successfully worked in school settings with rich student diversity and has helped create highly academic and rigorous school environments where all students can succeed.  

She has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from California State University, Chico, CA; a Master of Arts Degree in Counseling & Psychology from National University; an Elementary Teaching Certificate, K-8, from Northwest Nazarene University and an Educational Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership from Northwest Nazarene University.
Amy Pinkerman - Assistant Principal, Amity & Shadow Hills Elementary Schools
 
Amy Pinkerman has served as an educator in the Boise School District since 1997. During that time, she has worked as an elementary school teacher (Mtn. View, 1997-2010; Maple Grove, 2010-2011); Elementary School Assistant Principal (Shadow Hills, 2011-2012; Morley Nelson, 2012-2013); Summer School Elementary School Principal (Whittier, 2011; Lowell, 2012), Principal (Taft Elementary School, 2013 to 2016); Principal at Whitney Elementary School (2016 - 2020); and currently serves as Special Programs Principal for Madison Early Childhood, STEP, and ASCENT. 
 
Under her leadership, Ms. Pinkerman successfully implemented the Community Schools model at Whitney Elementary School, a program with an integrated focus on academics, health and social services, youth and community development and family engagement that leads to improved student learning, stronger families and healthier communities.
 
Ms. Pinkerman has distinguished herself as a professional administrator who is committed to establishing positive and effective relationships with students, parents and staff members as well as an advocate for Special Education inclusion and programming. She has a thorough understanding of the PSIT process to improve learning for all students and support teachers in effective interventions. She is dedicated to the District’s Vision of preparing each student for success in college, career and citizenship. She has a thorough knowledge of assessment, curriculum and instruction and served as a strong instructional leader at Taft Elementary School and Whitney Elementary School.  
 
Ms. Pinkerman earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in French with a Teaching Certificate from Gonzaga University, a Master of Education Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Lesley University, and a Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Idaho.
Greg Tovey - Assistant Principal, Capital High School

Greg Tovey has worked as a public school educator in Idaho since 2015. During this time, he has served students as a middle school math teacher (West Middle School, Nampa School District, 2015-2016); junior high math teacher (Hillside Junior High School, Secondary Summer School, 2016 to present); Principal, (Alternative Junior High School Summer School, February 2022 to present); and Assistant Principal, (Alternative Junior High School Summer School, February 2020 - July 2021).  

Mr. Tovey has fulfilled leadership roles as Administrative Designee and Technology Lead at Hillside Junior High School. In addition, as Assistant Principal at the District’s Alternative Summer School, he has had the opportunity to lead a team of educators with the goal of recovering lost educational time and building student confidence in the learning process. He is a well respected educational leader who fosters a welcome and effective learning environment with a belief that all students learn and succeed. 

Mr. Tovey earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education from Boise State University and a Master of Education Degree in Educational Leadership from Boise State University.
Brigette Warner - Assistant Principal, Whitney Elementary School 

Brigette Warner has 29 years of experience serving the needs of public school students. She has worked as a graduate social work intern (Davis County School District, Farmington UT, 1993-1994); 5th grade teacher (Detroit Public Schools, 2000-2001); kindergarten teacher (West Ada School District, 2002-2007); Teacher (Lowell Elementary, 2007-2012); and GATE teacher (White Pine Elementary, 2012 to present). Ms. Warner’s administrative experience includes serving as Administrative Intern (White Pine Elementary, 2016-2017); Summer School Principal (Whitney Elementary, 2018-2019); and as Boise Evening School Co-Principal (2020 to present). 

She is a collaborative educational leader whose experience, knowledge, skills and enthusiasm help staff members support student success inside and outside the classroom. She has significant leadership experience in the Boise School District, whether it is helping staff achieve district goals as an Instructional Lead, facilitating an online book discussion on trauma-sensitive discipline practices, or supporting initiatives such as the district’s sound grading practices. She is committed to meeting the needs of all students and
supporting the district’s goal of ensuring students are prepared for college, career, and citizenship.

Ms. Warner earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Brandeis University, Waltham, Massachusetts; Master Degree in Social Work from the University of Utah; Master of Education Degree from the University of Michigan and Master Degree in Educational Leadership from Boise State University.
Chelsie Wilson - Assistant Principal, East Junior High School

Chelsie Wilson has served secondary students in the Boise School District for more than 17 years, most recently as Assistant Principal at Fairmont Junior High and North Junior High (2021 to 2022), Assistant Principal at Borah High School (2020 to 2021), and Assistant Principal at the Dennis Technical Education Center (DTEC) (2017 to 2020).  
 
In addition, she served as the Career Development Advisor/Industry Liaison at DTEC (2013 to 2017) and as an Administrative Intern at Borah High School, Hillside Junior High School, and DTEC (2016 to 2017). For many years, she served on the DTEC Advisory Board, Business Educator Exchange Committee, SkillsUSA National Technical Committees, and SkillsUSA Idaho Board of Directors. Ms. Wilson also served as a SkillsUSA Advisor, mentoring students in leadership skills development. 
 
Ms. Wilson understands the importance and value of providing students with rigorous coursework that challenges them and prepares them for a successful future. She is a respected educator who has experience in providing diverse groups of students the opportunity to learn with a whole child approach. She enjoys working collaboratively with staff, parents, and students to support student achievement and success. 
 
Ms. Wilson's educational background includes an Associate of Applied Science in Auto Body Technology from the College of Southern Idaho, a Bachelor of Applied Science with emphasis in Communication and Gender Studies from Boise State University, a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Career and Technical Education from the University of Idaho, and an Education Specialist in Educational Leadership from the University of Idaho. Ms. Wilson is also a graduate of the Idaho Career and Technical Education Leadership Institute as well as the Idaho Association of School Administrators Project Leadership Academy.
