Wendi Forrey - Principal, Dallas Harris Elementary School (effective Fall 2023)
Wendi Forrey has successfully served as an educator in the Boise School District since 1993. During her 29 year career in education she has served as an exemplary elementary teacher (1993-2003), Title 1 Teacher (2003-2006); Federal Programs Consultant (2006-2013); Principal of Washington Elementary School (2013-2019) and she currently serves as Principal of White Pine Elementary School (2019 to present). Principal Forrey will continue to serve as the White Pine Principal for the 2022-2023 school year and will also be assisting in the duties required to successfully open the new Dallas Harris Elementary School (currently under construction) in the fall of 2023.
Principal Forrey is a confident, positive, energetic professional who is committed to supporting educational excellence in the Boise School District. To this end, she has served as a professional development trainer in support of the District’s Strategic Plan, including serving as a Look 2 Learning Trainer, Boise Instructional Model Trainer, Instructional Coach, and Professional Learning Community 4 REAL Trainer. Principal Forrey believes that each and every student can learn and she provides the necessary support, school culture and encouragement to see that successful learning occurs each and every day.
Principal Forrey is dedicated to the District’s Vision of preparing each student for success in college, career and in life. To that end, she fosters strong parental involvement and supports a nurturing and safe school environment where each and every student can succeed.
Principal Forrey earned a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Boise State University, and a Masters Degree in Educational Administration from the University of Idaho.

Annetta Brooks - Assistant Principal, East Junior High School (effective 2022-2023 school year)
Annetta Brooks has served the children of the Boise School District since 2003. In her 19 year career as a professional educator, Mrs. Brooks has leveraged her academic experience and proven knowledge of classroom management, instructional techniques and lesson planning to successfully help fellow educators strengthen their instructional practices. She has worked as an elementary school teacher (First Grade, Lowell Elementary, 2003-2004; First Grade Koelsch Elementary, 2004-2008; and First & Second Grade, Hillcrest Elementary, 2008 to 2021) and currently serves as a Reading Specialist and Administrative Designee at Hillcrest Elementary School (2021 to present). She is also currently serving as a Summer School Administrator at Hawthorne Elementary.
She is passionate and dedicated to building positive relationships with colleagues, students and their families in order to develop a community of learners and give all students and staff the opportunity to learn and work to their full potential. Mrs. Brooks believes all students can learn and is committed to maximizing student performance, fostering a passion for learning and setting a strong foundation for student growth. Some of her current and past teaching experiences and qualifications include: Instructional Lead; Implement and support PBIS Framework; Thinking Maps - Trained in A Path to Proficiency and Write From the Beginning and Beyond; Co-Teaching; Idaho Coaching Network and serving as a current Reading Specialist and Administrative Designee.
Mrs. Brooks earned her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Boise State University, and a Masters Degree in Education, Early Childhood/Early Childhood Special Education and a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from Boise State University.

Jerad Larson - Assistant Principal, Horizon Elementary School and Fairmont Junior High School (effective 2022-2023 school year)
Jerad Larson’s career as an Idaho educator began in 2012. For the last ten years, he has served students as a Special Education Teacher: Self Contained Classroom (Iowa Elementary, Nampa School District, 2012-2013); Special Education Teacher: Excel (Jefferson Elementary School, Boise School District, 2013-2017); Building Technology Lead (Grace Jordan and Jefferson Elementary Schools, Boise School District, 2015-2020); Administrative Designee (Grace Jordan Elementary School, Boise School District, 2020-2022); Summer School Principal (Grace Jordan Elementary School, Boise School District, 2021); and 6th Grade Teacher (Grace Jordan Elementary School, Boise School District, 2017 to present).
Mr. Larson has strong leadership skills that supports the creation of a culture of learning and positive school climate, builds capacity in staff and students and promotes student learning through the belief that all students can learn by providing the structure, support and encouragement to do so. He has served on various school leadership teams where he has helped teachers improve their teaching methods and achieve better outcomes. He is dedicated to the District’s Vision of preparing students to succeed in college, career and life.
Mr. Larson earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish from Northwest Nazarene University; Master of Educational Technology degree from Boise State University; Master of Science in Education - Teacher Leadership from Walden University and Education Specialist degree from Northwest Nazarene University.

Jason Shanks - Counselor Lead/Assistant Principal, White Pine Elementary School (effective 2022-2023 school year)
Jason Shanks has 14 years of experience working as a professional in the private mental health field as well as a counselor and principal/assistant principal in the Boise School District. Specifically, Mr. Shanks has worked to support students and families as a Clinical Counselor and Supervisor at Centerpointe Mental and Behavioral Health (2008-2013); School Counselor (Riverside Elementary School, 2013 to present, Trailwind Elementary, 2012-2013); Principal/Assistant Principal, Alternative High School and Alternative Junior High School Summer School (2022, 2021 & 2019 ).
Mr. Shanks is a positive, energetic leader who prides himself on his ability to build positive relationships with diverse groups of students, staff and families. He believes that these relationships foster an environment where students can grow in their academic, behavioral and personal successes. He believes that all students have the ability to learn and succeed, no matter the circumstances, if they are provided the necessary support.
Mr Shanks has practiced effective strategic, administrative, and school culture leadership in his role as a summer principal/assistant principal. He has also established himself as a well-respected and knowledgeable educator working to support students and families as a school counselor. As a school counselor, he enjoyed mentoring new-to-district counselors and supervising interns from local universities.
Mr. Shanks earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice Administration with a Minor in Business Administration from Boise State University; a Master of Science degree in Counselor Education from Northwest Nazarene University and an Educational Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Idaho.
