Bryce England, Safety & Security Specialist, Boise School District
The Boise School District is pleased to announce that Bryce England, who has served as Assistant Principal at West Junior High School since the 2021-22 school year, will serve as the District’s Safety & Security Supervisor, effective at the start of the 2025-2026 school year.
Mr. England brings a wealth of experience to this important role, having served the students and families of the Boise School District in a variety of capacities since 1999:

Throughout his career, he has demonstrated a strong commitment to student success, school-community relations, and fostering safe and supportive learning environments. In his role as a building principal and assistant principal, Mr. England has served on past District safety and security committees and has worked closely with the District’s current Safety and Security Supervisor on school safety and security procedures.
With a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Earth Science Education from the University of Idaho and a Master’s degree in Educational Administration from the University of Phoenix, Mr. England’s leadership and dedication align with the District’s mission to prepare students for success in college, career, and life.
In his new role as Safety & Security Supervisor, he will work to ensure a safe and secure learning environment for all students and staff across the District.

Lisa Ramey-Hernandez, Principal, Lincoln Early Learning Center
The Boise School District is pleased to announce that Lisa Ramey-Hernandez will serve as the Principal of the Lincoln Early Learning Center, effective at the start of the 2025-2026 school year.
Ms. Ramey-Hernandez has dedicated 24 years to serving students, with a strong focus on early childhood education and special education. She currently serves as the Assistant Principal for the Student Transition Education Program (STEP) and the Early Childhood Center located at Ft. Boise, a role she has held since the 2024-25 school year. Prior to that, she worked as:
- Administrator, Lincoln Early Learning Center & STEP Vista (2024-2025)
- Principal & Special Education Consulting Teacher, Madison Early Childhood Center (2023-2024)
- Special Education Consulting Teacher, Boise School District (2022-2024)

Her extensive leadership experience, expertise in early childhood education, and commitment to inclusive learning will be invaluable as she transitions to lead the Lincoln Early Learning Center. She is known for her ability to collaborate with colleagues, inspire staff and families, and create inclusive environments where all students can thrive.

Cherise Longoria, Boise Area Director, Boise School District
The Boise School District is pleased to announce that Cherise Longoria has been appointed as the Boise Area Director, effective at the start of the 2025-2026 school year.
Ms. Longoria brings nearly two decades of experience in public education, with a strong background in special education, instructional leadership, and student support services. Her career began in Lewisville, Texas, where she taught elementary special education students from 2005 to 2010. In 2010, she joined the Boise School District, where she has served in a variety of leadership roles, including Junior High Special Education Teacher, Special Education Consulting Teacher, Assistant Principal at Les Bois Junior High, Special Education Supervisor, and Summer School Principal at both the elementary and high school levels.
Most recently, Ms. Longoria has served as the Administrator of Student Support Services (2022–present), where she has played an instrumental leadership role in the development and expansion of the district's early learning programs for 3 to 5 year-olds. She has also provided oversight and leadership in counseling and social work services, special education, summer school, professional development, and new teacher orientation programs. Additionally, she has contributed at the state level as a member of the Director’s Advisory Committee with the Idaho State Department of Education’s Director of Special Education.
Ms. Longoria’s leadership is defined by her commitment to student success, dedication to supporting educators, and ability to build strong relationships with staff, students, and families. She is a tireless advocate for education and has been instrumental in advancing the district’s strategic initiatives and vision of preparing students for success in college, career, and citizenship.
She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Education and Health from Eastern Oregon University and a Master of Education and Administration Degree from the University of Idaho.

Wendy Johnson, Deputy Superintendent of Teaching & Learning, Boise School District
The Boise School District is pleased to announce that Wendy Johnson will serve as the Deputy Superintendent of Teaching & Learning, effective at the start of the 2025-2026 school year.
Ms. Johnson currently serves as the Boise Quadrant Area Director, a position she has held during the 2024-2025 school year. She brings extensive experience in education, having served Idaho’s public school students in various capacities since 1994, including as a teacher, administrator, and Superintendent of the Kuna School District.
During her career in education, Ms. Johnson has served students as:

Throughout her career, Ms. Johnson has demonstrated a strong commitment to student success. She has led initiatives in early childhood education, expanded learning opportunities, strengthened stakeholder partnerships, and improved accountability and transparency. Her leadership approach prioritizes collaboration among students, educators, families, and the community to develop innovative solutions that support student achievement.
“As an educational leader, my goal is to remove barriers so that teachers can focus on teaching and administrators can focus on supporting their teams,” said Johnson. “I believe in the power of educators to transform students’ lives, and I look forward to continuing that work in this new role.”
Ms. Johnson holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Northwest Nazarene University, a master’s degree in Adult Education and Organizational Learning, and an Educational Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Idaho. She is certified as a principal and superintendent.

Monica Nydegger, Principal, Owyhee Early Learning Center
The Boise School District is pleased to announce that Monica Nydegger, current Principal of Hawthorne Elementary School, will serve as the first principal of the new Owyhee Early Learning Center, effective at the start of the 2025-2026 school year.
Mrs. Nydegger has been a dedicated educator in Idaho’s public schools since 2002, bringing over two decades of experience fostering a culture of collaboration, community, student success, and academic excellence.

In the last six years, she has been fortunate to collaborate with, learn from and help support the Pre-K programs at both Hawthorne and Whitney.
A passionate advocate for inclusion and early childhood education, Mrs. Nydegger is committed to creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment where young learners can thrive, as well as cultivating a warm, welcoming and supportive school community for staff and families.
As the principal of the Owyhee Early Learning Center, she will lead the transition of the school into a hub for early childhood education, ensuring Pre-K students receive a strong foundation for future success. As an instructional leader and collaborative professional, she is passionate about being at the ground level of supporting the earliest of interventions and growing the whole child. She is dedicated to leading a team in providing families and their children the best first experience in the Boise School District!
