Administrative Appointments
Boise, ID  -- (02/14/2020) --  Boise School District announces the following administrative appointments effective March 2, 2020: 
Kelly Anne Kuntz - Principal, Pierce Park Elementary School 
 
Kelly Anne Kuntz has served students in the Boise School District since 1989. During that time, she has held a number of positions, including Special Education Teacher (North Junior High School & Pierce Park Elementary School, 1989-1993); 3rd Grade Teacher (Hillcrest Elementary School & Pierce Park Elementary School, 1993-2000); 4th Grade Teacher (Hillcrest Elementary School, 2000-2003); Title I Teacher (Hillcrest Elementary School, 2003-2005); Peer Assistant (District Services Center, 2005-2012); Facilitator of Peer Assistance Program (DSC, 2009-2013); Lead Professional Development Consulting Teacher (DSC, 2012-2014); Peer Assistant (DSC,  2014-2016) and Assistant Principal, (South Junior High School, 2016 to present).
 
Mrs. Kuntz is an experienced leader who is able to manage the complexities of teaching and student learning through the development and alignment of curriculum, assessments and professional development. Mrs. Kuntz is supportive of Pierce Park’s Classical Education model. She is dedicated to the District's Strategic Plan and has helped align training of new District employees to support the Plan's Vision of graduating each student prepared for success in college, career and citizenship. 
 
Principal Kuntz earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology with a Minor in Special Education from Carroll College, a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education from Carroll College, a Master of Arts Degree in Curriculum & Instruction from Boise State University and an Educational Specialist Degree in Administration from the University of Idaho.
Faith Reader - Assistant Principal South Junior High

Faith Reader has served Idaho’s public school students since 2006. During that time, she has served as an English Language Arts Teacher in a number of school districts and school systems - Kuna School District (grades 9-11, 2008 to 2011);  Nampa School District (grades 10-12, 2006 to 2013); and Abu Dhabi Education Council, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (grades 4, 6-7, 2013-2016). Mrs. Reader currently works as the Boise School District’s Secondary Reading Coach (2016 to present). 

As the District’s Secondary Reading Coach, she has successfully served the needs of secondary students at 12 school campuses. She has experience in serving the needs of diverse student populations and in establishing a positive and nurturing educational environment that supports students, parents and staff. Mrs. Reader is a strong instructional leader who is committed to the Boise School District’s Vision of graduating students who are prepared for college, career, and citizenship.

Mrs. Reader earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English and Secondary English Education from Northwest Nazarene University, a Master of Education Degree in Reading from Northwest Nazarene University and an Education Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership from Northwest Nazarene University.  
Chris Ryan - Principal Fairmont Junior High
 
Chris Ryan has dedicated himself to serving public school students in Boise since 2001. He has held a number of school leadership positions during that time, including Elementary Summer School Principal (2011); Assistant Alternative Summer School Principal (2012);  Assistant Elementary School Principal (Riverside - 2012-13); Assistant Principal at East Junior High School (2013 - 2015); and Principal at Pierce Park Elementary School (2015 to present). 
 
Mr. Ryan taught social studies at Capital High School for eleven years and at Fairmont Junior High School for two years. He also served as Capital High’s Social Studies Department Chair. He also worked as a school administrative intern and mentor in the District's Peer Assistance Program. 
 
Principal Ryan has proven himself to be a dedicated, knowledgeable and skilled education professional committed to providing excellent educational opportunities for each and every student. He has a strong history of building positive relationships and a collaborative rapport with students, parents, faculty, staff, school community and school administrators. He is supportive of the District’s AVID program that successfully prepares students to succeed in college and career.  He also has experience in serving diverse groups of students and supporting each student’s promise and passion to succeed in and out of school. 
 
Principal Ryan earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Secondary Education from the University of Idaho, and a Master of Science Degree in Educational Leadership from Northwest Nazarene University.
