Boise School District Announces Administrative Appointments

Boise, ID -- 04/28/2025 -- Boise School District is pleased to announce the following administrative appointments, effective the 2025-2026 school year.

Loren Bailly, Assistant Principal, Horizon Elementary School


Boise School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Loren Bailly as Assistant Principal of Horizon Elementary School, effective at the start of the 2025–2026 school year.


Ms. Bailly brings a wealth of experience in elementary education, having served Boise School District students since 2007 in a variety of roles—including classroom teacher, mentor, learning coach, and administration designee. Her deep commitment to instructional leadership and relationship-building has had a lasting impact on both students and staff.


Currently serving as a Learning Coach at Taft Elementary, Ms. Bailly partners with teachers to co-construct student learning goals and implement student-centered learning practices that support academic growth. Her collaborative approach has resulted in successful coaching cycles with 100% of certified staff over the past two and a half years. Additionally, she has played a key role in mentoring future educators as a Liaison in Residence and Student Teacher Mentor with Boise State University, helping to shape the next generation of dedicated teachers.


Recognized as Idaho’s LEP Educator of the Year in 2009 and the Lee Pesky Outstanding Educator of the Year in 2022, Ms. Bailly is a Certified Poverty Coach who is known for her ability to foster a safe, welcoming, and inclusive school environment where every student feels a sense of belonging. Her strengths in problem-solving, communication, and building strong family partnerships align with the Boise School District’s values of respect, dignity, honesty, responsibility, and teamwork.


Loren Bailly holds a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Boise State University and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from the University of Idaho.

DJ Eberlin, Assistant Principal, Timberline High School


Boise School District is pleased to announce the appointment of DJ Eberlin as Assistant Principal at Timberline High School, effective at the start of the 2025-2026 school year.


Mr. Eberlin has served as Assistant Principal at Hillside Junior High School since 2022. At Hillside, he has helped implement PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) and a lunchtime intramural program, both of which have led to a dramatic decrease in behavioral issues since their introduction. In addition to his work at Hillside, Mr. Eberlin brings nearly two decades of experience serving Idaho’s public school students. A passionate educator and leader, he is deeply committed to the Boise School District’s student-centered learning initiative and works to ensure that each and every student is known, supported, and empowered to succeed.


His extensive high school experience includes serving as a science teacher and baseball coach at Mountain View High School in the West Ada School District (2007–2014), and as a science teacher and baseball coach at Borah High School in the Boise School District (2014–2022). Mr. Eberlin’s ability to motivate students, collaborate with staff, and build strong relationships with families has earned him the respect of colleagues and community members alike. He believes in fostering inclusive environments where every student feels a sense of belonging and is prepared for success in college, career, and life.


In addition to his teaching and leadership roles, Mr. Eberlin has contributed to curriculum development across multiple districts and at the state level, including helping to write the Idaho science ISAT. 


Mr. Eberlin earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the College of Idaho (formerly Albertson College of Idaho), a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction, and an Educational Specialist Degree in Administration from the University of Idaho.


A values-driven leader, Mr. Eberlin embodies the Boise School District’s core values of respect, dignity, honesty, responsibility, and teamwork. We are excited to welcome him to the leadership team at Timberline High School, where his student-centered mindset and commitment to educational excellence will continue to benefit students, staff, and families.

Jenny Gibbons, Assistant Principal, White Pine Elementary School


Boise School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Jenny Gibbons as Assistant Principal of White Pine Elementary School, effective at the start of the 2025-2026 school year.


Ms. Gibbons brings more than two decades of dedicated service to Boise’s elementary students, staff, and families. She currently serves as a District Reading Specialist, where she leads school-wide literacy initiatives and professional development efforts aligned with the Science of Reading and state dyslexia legislation. Her experience also includes serving as a Building Reading Specialist, Instructional Lead, classroom teacher, and Special Education paraprofessional—all within elementary school settings.


A lifelong learner and passionate educator, Ms. Gibbons is known for her student-centered approach, collaborative spirit, and deep understanding of evidence-based instructional practices. She builds meaningful relationships with families and staff, and works tirelessly to ensure each and every student receives the resources and support they need to thrive. Her leadership is marked by a strong belief in fostering a positive, inclusive school culture where all students and staff feel safe, valued, and empowered to succeed.


Ms. Gibbon’s leadership aligns closely with the Boise School District’s values of respect, dignity, honesty, responsibility, and teamwork. She is deeply committed to the District’s vision of preparing every student for success in college, career, and in life.


She holds a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from Boise State University (2024), a Literacy Endorsement (2019), a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction from Lesley University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Boise State University.

Elizabeth Gustavel, Assistant Principal, Whitney Elementary School


Boise School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Elizabeth Gustavel as Assistant Principal of Whitney Elementary School, effective at the start of the 2025-2026 school year.


Ms. Gustavel brings a wealth of elementary education experience and a deep commitment to fostering student-centered learning environments where each and every student feels welcome, supported, and empowered to succeed. Throughout her career in the Boise School District, she has demonstrated a passion for inclusivity, collaboration, and building positive school culture.


Currently serving as a 5th/6th grade combination teacher at Trail Wind Elementary,

Ms. Gustavel has played a key leadership role in her school community. She has served as Administrative Designee, Technology Lead, Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) Lead, and a member of the Trail Wind Leadership Team. In each of these roles, she has supported teachers and staff in implementing effective instructional strategies, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment.


In the summer of 2024, Ms. Gustavel served as Principal of Garfield Elementary’s Summer School Program, where she provided instructional leadership and oversaw the hiring of high-quality educators and support staff.


In addition, she has served the past two years as the Elementary Athletic Representative for the Timberline Quadrant, acting as a liaison between administrators, coaches, and community members to ensure a positive and inclusive experience for student-athletes in our elementary athletic programs.


Ms. Gustavel’s leadership is guided by the Boise School District’s core values of respect, dignity, honesty, responsibility, and teamwork. She works in close partnership with families and staff to create welcoming, high-expectation environments where every child is seen, heard, and supported.


Elizabeth Gustavel holds a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from the University of Idaho. She is a certified K-8 educator and has completed training in Clarity 1.0 and 2.0, supporting her focus on instructional clarity and student agency.

AJ Johnson, Assistant Principal, Frank Church High School


Boise School District is pleased to announce the appointment of AJ Johnson as Assistant Principal of Frank Church High School, effective at the start of the 2025-2026 school year.


AJ Johnson brings a wealth of experience, passion, and a deep commitment to student success to this leadership role. With a background in both general and special education and experience across elementary and high school settings, AJ is a student-centered leader who values collaboration, inclusion, and academic excellence.


Most recently, AJ has served as Assistant Principal of the Summer Alternative High School at Borah, where he led instructional evaluations, developed a summer school discipline matrix, managed budgeting and funds, and coordinated meaningful professional development opportunities for staff. His leadership also included the creation and implementation of grading practices tailored for alternative education environments—demonstrating his ability to meet students where they are and help them grow.


Since August 2023, AJ has worked as a Resource Teacher at Hidden Springs and Cynthia Mann Elementary, supporting teachers and students through the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), administering diagnostic assessments, and strengthening data-driven instruction. Prior to that, AJ served for eight years at Seven Oaks Elementary as an Extended Resource Special Education Teacher and a key member of the school’s Leadership Council, Visible Learning Team, and assessment initiatives.


AJ earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Puget Sound, followed by a Master’s in Intercollegiate Athletic Leadership from the University of Washington, a Master’s in Teaching from City University with a Special Education Endorsement, and an Education Specialist Degree and Administrative Certificate from the University of Idaho.


Known for his cultural competency, critical thinking, strong planning and organizational abilities, and dedication to equity and inclusion, AJ is committed to fostering a safe, supportive, and empowering environment at Frank Church High School. He is excited to continue building positive relationships with students, families, and staff while working in alignment with the Boise School District’s vision to ensure every student is prepared for success in college, career, and in life.

Ben Ott, Assistant Principal, Hillside Junior High School


Boise School District is proud to announce the appointment of Ben Ott as Assistant Principal of Hillside Junior High School, effective at the start of the 2025–2026 school year.


Mr. Ott brings more than two decades of experience in education, including nearly 20 years serving students in the Boise School District at both the junior high and high school levels. Since 2016, he has taught biology, physical science, and life science at Les Bois Junior High School, where he has also served as Administrative Designee, Science Department Chair, and a key member of the school’s leadership team. Prior to that, he taught chemistry and biology at Borah High School for nine years.


Mr. Ott’s deep understanding of the secondary school environment is matched by his unwavering commitment to student-centered learning. He has played a vital role in leading instructional initiatives that align with the Boise School District’s vision of preparing every student for success in college, career, and citizenship. As a participant in the District’s Leaders of Influence Academy and Clarity cohorts, and as a 2024 Pesky Award for Inspirational Teaching recipient, Mr. Ott has consistently demonstrated leadership that values clarity, collaboration, and continuous learning.


He has contributed significantly to district-wide instructional improvement by helping develop science learning scales, common assessments, and professional development opportunities for educators. His work has influenced science instruction across the district, ensuring students receive engaging, standards-aligned learning experiences.


Mr. Ott is known for building strong relationships with students, families, and staff and for his ability to lead with empathy, insight, and dedication. His administrative internship at Les Bois Junior High further prepared him to support the needs of a diverse student population and foster a positive, inclusive school culture.

Sean Sup, Principal, Washington Elementary School


Boise School District is proud to announce the appointment of Sean Sup as Principal of Washington Elementary School, effective at the start of the 2025-2026 school year.


A dedicated educator and collaborative leader, Mr. Sup has served students in the Boise School District for the past 14 years, building a strong foundation of instructional leadership, family engagement, and student-centered practice. He brings to his new role a deep commitment to ensuring that every child learns, supported by the resources, relationships, and guidance they need to thrive—hallmarks of the District’s student-centered learning initiative.


Throughout his career, Mr. Sup has demonstrated a clear vision for educational excellence. Most recently, he has served as Assistant Principal at Horizon Elementary School (2024–present), and previously as Assistant Principal at Amity, Grace Jordan, and Shadow Hills Elementary Schools (2023–2024), as well as at the District’s Alternative Junior High Summer School program. Prior to his leadership roles, he taught English Language Arts and AVID electives at Hillside Junior High School from 2012 to 2023, where he also served as AVID Coordinator, Instructional Lead, and Administrative Designee.


In each of these roles, Mr. Sup has collaborated closely with staff and families to develop inclusive school environments, lead curriculum initiatives, and implement best instructional practices. His decision-making is guided by the belief that all students can achieve at high levels when we create the conditions for success—clarity, support, agency, and ongoing learning cycles.


As a proud graduate of the Boise School District himself, Mr. Sup is passionate about giving back to the community that shaped him. His dedication to preparing students for college, career, and life is evident in every aspect of his work, from building strong family partnerships to leading school teams in setting ambitious, student-centered goals.


Mr. Sup holds a Bachelor’s Degree in English Literature from the University of Idaho, a Secondary Teaching Certificate, a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction, and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership, all from Boise State University.
