Jason Adams, Principal, Hidden Springs Elementary School


Boise School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Jason Adams as the new Principal of Hidden Springs Elementary School, effective the 2025-2026 school year.


Mr. Adams has been a dedicated educator in the Boise School District for 25 years, serving in key leadership roles that have positively impacted students, staff, and the community. In 2023, he elected to serve as a Culture and Wellbeing Specialist at Fairmont Junior High School, focusing on student support and school climate. His extensive background in school leadership includes experience as an assistant principal and principal, where he has successfully led staff, implemented district initiatives, and fostered a positive and inclusive learning environment.


Mr. Adams’ career in education began at North Junior High as a Math Teacher. He then taught Language Arts at Les Bois Junior High before transitioning to student support. He served students as a school counselor at Fairmont Junior High (2005-2012) and a high school counselor at Boise High (2012-2015). He then transitioned into administration, serving as Assistant Principal at Boise High (2015-2017), where he played a critical role in supporting students, staff, and school operations. In 2017, he was appointed Principal of Adams Elementary School, a role he held until 2023. As principal, he provided instructional leadership, developed a strong school culture, and worked closely with families and staff to enhance student success.


Mr. Adams is eager to bring his extensive leadership experience to Hidden Springs Elementary, where he will continue his commitment to optimizing student and school success. He is dedicated to fostering a collaborative and engaging learning environment and advancing the District’s Strategic Plan Vision of preparing students for success in college, career, and citizenship.


Mr. Adams earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education from Northwest Nazarene University, a Master of Arts Degree in School Counseling from the University of West Alabama, and a Master of Arts Degree in Educational Leadership from Boise State University.

John Bale, Principal, Pierce Park Elementary School


Boise School District is pleased to announce the appointment of John Bale as the new Principal of Pierce Park Elementary School, effective the 2025-2026 school year.


Mr. Bale has been a dedicated educator in the Boise School District since 1990, bringing decades of experience in leadership, instruction, and student support. His extensive background in elementary school leadership includes serving as assistant principal at Grace Jordan and Shadow Hills Elementary Schools (2021 to 2022), where he has worked closely with students, staff, and families to foster a positive and engaging learning environment. Additionally, he has held key leadership roles in elementary summer programs and served as elementary summer school principal at Grace Jordan Elementary (2020).  


Mr. Bale’s experience as a physical education teacher for grades K-6 (1996-2021) has provided him with deep insight into the developmental and academic needs of elementary students. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated a strong commitment to instructional leadership, mentoring new teachers, and implementing reading and math intervention strategies to support student achievement.


In addition to his elementary school leadership experience, Mr. Bale has held a variety of roles in education, including serving as assistant principal at Frank Church High School (2022-present), assistant principal for alternative summer high school at West Junior High (2021) and assistant summer school principal intern at Frank Church Alternative Junior High School (2019). He has also contributed to the broader educational community as an adjunct faculty member at Boise State University (2001-2021), co-instructing Kinesiology Methods, and as a regional and national presenter on best practices in physical education and school partnerships.


A passionate and well-respected educator, Mr. Bale believes in the potential of every student and is committed to ensuring that all learners receive the support and encouragement needed to succeed. His positive attitude, instructional expertise, and leadership in elementary education will be a valuable asset to the Pierce Park community.


Mr. Bale earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Education K-12 from Boise State University, a Master of Education Degree in Curriculum & Instruction from Lesley University, and an Educational Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Idaho.

Annie Billingsley, Assistant Principal, Riverglen Junior High School


Boise School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Annie Billingsley as the new Assistant Principal of Riverglen Junior High School, effective the 2025-2026 school year.


Ms. Billingsley brings a wealth of experience as an educator, instructional coach, and leader across secondary and higher education. She is currently serving as a learning coach in the Boise School District (Les Bois Junior High School), where she collaborates with teachers to develop student-centered, evidence-based instruction that enhances student learning and engagement. Her experience includes supporting educators with professional development at both the school and district levels, curriculum co-construction across content areas, and instructional coaching in classrooms.


Prior to her role as a learning coach, Ms. Billingsley taught English at Les Bois Junior High School and has extensive experience as a secondary English instructor. Before joining the Boise School District, she taught English at McLean High School in Virginia, where she served as team lead for English 12, developed district-level curriculum for English 9-12, sponsored the National English Honor Society, and mentored student teachers. She has also worked as a subject matter expert and online course developer, creating content for multidisciplinary learning programs.


Ms. Billingsley’s leadership experience extends beyond traditional education. She has served as a curriculum developer for academic and defense-based training programs, an advanced placement reader for the College Board, and an interim director for the Airman and Family Readiness Center, where she managed relocation and transition programs for military families. Her diverse professional background has strengthened her skills in administration, mentoring, and instructional leadership—making her a dynamic addition to Riverglen Junior High.


Throughout her career, Ms. Billingsley has been recognized for her dedication to student success, earning multiple Senior Teacher of the Year awards and other professional honors. She is committed to fostering a supportive, inclusive, and engaging school environment where all students feel valued and empowered to excel.


Ms. Billingsley holds a Bachelor of Science in Liberal Studies from the State University of New York at Albany, a Master of Arts in English from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Ottawa University. She is expected to complete her Educational Specialist Degree in Executive Leadership from Boise State University in May 2025.

Annetta Brooks, Principal, Dallas Harris Elementary School


Boise School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Annetta Brooks as the new Principal of Dallas Harris Elementary School, effective the 2025-2026 school year.


Mrs. Brooks has dedicated her career to serving the students of the Boise School District since 2003, bringing a wealth of experience and leadership to her new role. She currently serves as assistant principal at East Junior High School, a position she has held since the 2022-2023 school year. Throughout her 22-year career as a professional educator, Mrs. Brooks has demonstrated a deep commitment to academic excellence, instructional leadership, and student success.


Her background includes extensive experience in elementary education, having worked as a first and second grade teacher and a Reading Specialist at Hillcrest Elementary School (2008-2022), as well as teaching first grade at Koelsch Elementary School (2004-2008) and Lowell Elementary School (2003-2004). She served as the summer school administrator at Hawthorne Elementary School (2022).


Mrs. Brooks is passionate about building strong, positive relationships with students, families, and staff, knowing that a connected school community helps students thrive. She is dedicated to empowering students to grow, nurturing a love for learning, and ensuring every student has the support and opportunities they need to reach their full potential. 


Her leadership and teaching expertise encompass serving as an instructional lead, facilitating PBIS framework implementation, successfully implementing Thinking Maps in the classroom, co-teaching, and engaging in the Idaho Coaching Network.


Mrs. Brooks holds a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Boise State University, as well as master’s degrees in Early Childhood/Early Childhood Special Education and Educational Leadership from Boise State University.

Amy Collinge, Principal, Taft Elementary School 



Boise School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Amy Collinge as the new Principal of Taft Elementary School, effective the 2025-2026 school year.


Ms. Collinge brings more than 20 years of experience serving in diverse public schools. Since 2023, she has served as assistant principal at White Pine Elementary School, providing leadership in student learning, school culture, and instructional best practices. 


Throughout her career, Ms. Collinge has deeply committed to working with diverse students and families, ensuring that all learners feel valued, supported, and included. She believes in the power of building strong relationships and is dedicated to creating a warm and welcoming school environment where every student and family feels a sense of belonging.


Her extensive background includes working as a multilingual learners specialist & co-teacher (2018-2023) in the Boise School District, as well as a secondary science & art teacher (2021). Before joining the district, she gained invaluable experience in dual language immersion education, literacy instruction, and teacher mentorship through various roles, including:

  • Dual language mentor teacher PK-8 – Portland Public Schools (2014-2018)
  • Dual language immersion teacher – Spanish, 1st grade – Portland Public Schools (2010-2014)

Ms. Collinge’s passion for early literacy, dual language education, instructional coaching, and co-teaching is at the core of her work. She engaged in intensive preparation for school leadership through graduate studies, district leadership opportunities, national fellowships, and her experience as a summer academy administrator in Payette, ID (2022).


Beyond her work in U.S. schools, she has demonstrated her commitment to educational equity by working with nonprofit organizations supporting schools in Guatemala (2007), Oregon (2003-2004), and the Dominican Republic (2002). Her extensive experience working with multilingual students, underserved communities, and diverse learners has shaped her approach to leadership—one that prioritizes inclusivity, collaboration, and student-centered learning.


Ms. Collinge believes that when students and families feel welcomed, safe, and respected, they thrive. She is dedicated to leading Taft Elementary with a focus on equity, high-quality instruction, and a strong sense of community where all students and families are valued.


Ms. Collinge earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Hispanic Studies from Lewis & Clark College, holds Reading Specialist and ESOL/ Bilingual Endorsements from Lewis & Clark Graduate School, and a Master’s Degree in Education, Curriculum & Instruction from Arizona State University. She completed her Educational Specialist degree in Executive Educational Leadership from Boise State University.

Bill Kloppenburg, Assistant Principal, South Junior High School 


Boise School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Bill Kloppenburg as the new assistant principal of South Junior High School, effective for the 2025-2026 school year.


Mr. Kloppenburg brings over a decade of experience in education and school leadership. He has been a dedicated teacher in the Boise School District at Fairmont Junior High School since 2015, where he has also served as an administrative designee, building mentor, and instructional team leader. His leadership experience extends beyond the school year, having served as summer school principal at both South Junior High and Frank Church High School.


A passionate educator and administrator, Mr. Kloppenburg is committed to building strong relationships, fostering a positive school culture, and implementing systems that support student success. He has extensive experience working with a diverse student population and supporting families to ensure each and every student feels valued and connected. His leadership is grounded in the belief that a welcoming and inclusive school environment is key to student achievement, and he is dedicated to maintaining a culture where all students feel they belong.


As he steps into this new role, Mr. Kloppenburg remains dedicated to the Boise School District’s mission of “Educating Today for a Better Tomorrow.” He is deeply invested in the district’s student-centered learning initiative, ensuring that every student is supported, challenged, and prepared for success in college, career, and life. His leadership will continue to uphold the district’s commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and equity.


Mr. Kloppenburg holds a master’s in educational leadership from Boise State University, as well as degrees in vocal performance and music education from Indiana University. His background as a music educator has shaped his leadership approach, emphasizing motivation, collaboration, and community-building. His expertise in team-building, student behavior management, and video production has allowed him to engage students, staff, and families in meaningful ways. His work in video production has also supported district-wide initiatives and enhanced communication efforts.

Matt Krumm, Principal, Hawthorne Elementary School


Boise School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Matt Krumm as the new Principal of Hawthorne Elementary School, effective the 2025-2026 school year.


Mr. Krumm is a dedicated educator and experienced school leader who has served in a variety of administrative and teaching roles throughout his career. He currently serves as assistant principal at South Junior High School (2023 to present). His extensive administrative experience also includes serving as assistant principal at Borah High School (2022-2023), Hillside Junior High School (2015-2022) and Caldwell High School (2012-2015).


Before transitioning into school leadership, Mr. Krumm worked as a special education behavior specialist (2005-2007) and high school teacher (2008-2012), teaching U.S. history, psychology, sociology, student government, and special education. He also gained valuable administrative experience as a summer school principal for the Kuna School District (2011-2012).


Mr. Krumm has a strong background in instructional leadership, curriculum development, and student support. His administrative experience includes curriculum writing and alignment, RTI facilitation, professional learning community leadership, test coordination, curriculum alignment, ISAT-alt assessment, hiring, and building safety. His work has consistently focused on increasing student achievement through collaboration with students, staff, and families.


A passionate and student-centered leader, Mr. Krumm is committed to empowering students to take ownership of their learning with the support and guidance of highly qualified educators. He believes in fostering a school environment where every student feels valued, supported, and encouraged to succeed.


Mr. Krumm earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology from Boise State University, his Idaho Teaching Certificate from Boise State University, and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from the University of Idaho.

Ryan McGill, Assistant Principal, North Junior High School 


Boise School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Ryan McGill as the new Assistant Principal of North Junior High School, effective the 2025-2026 school year.


Mr. McGill has been a dedicated educator in the Boise School District for nearly 23 years, bringing extensive experience as a teacher, coach, and administrator. Since January of 2023, he has served as one of the assistant principals at Fairmont Junior High School, where he has worked closely with students, staff, and families to support student achievement and foster a positive school culture.


Throughout his career, Mr. McGill has been committed to student success. He has taught US History at Capital High School (2021-2022), World Studies 7 and 8, US History 9 at Fairmont Junior High (2008-2021) and World Studies 7 at Riverglen Junior High School (2003-2006), as well as drama, creative communication, and technical reading and writing at Fairmont Junior High School (2002-2003). In addition to teaching, he has contributed to student development through coaching football, basketball, and track at Fairmont and Riverglen Junior High School.


Mr. McGill is a strong advocate for student-centered learning, believing that all students can and will succeed when given the opportunity, guidance, and support. He is committed to preparing students for success in college, career, and citizenship, and works closely with students and families to create a positive and responsive culture of learning.


Mr. McGill earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science Education (Secondary) from the University of Idaho in 2001 and a Master’s Degree in Education Administration from the University of Idaho in 2012.

Amy Pinkerman, Assistant Principal, East Junior High School


Boise School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Amy Pinkerman as the new Assistant Principal of East Junior High School, effective the 2025-2026 school year.


Ms. Pinkerman has been a dedicated educator in the Boise School District since 1997, serving in a variety of teaching and administrative roles that have positively impacted students, staff, and families. She currently serves as principal at Shadow Hills Elementary School (2023 to present) and has extensive experience in both elementary and special programs leadership.


Throughout her career, Ms. Pinkerman has demonstrated a strong commitment to student-centered learning, believing that every student can succeed when provided with the right resources, support, and guidance. Her administrative experience includes serving as assistant principal at Shadow Hills and Amity Elementary Schools (2022-2023) and as special programs principal for Madison Early Childhood, STEP, and ASCENT (2020-2022). She has also led as principal of Taft Elementary School (2013-2016) and Whitney Elementary School (2016-2020), where she successfully implemented the Community Schools model, an integrated approach that strengthens academics, health and social services, youth and community development, and family engagement.  


Ms. Pinkerman has distinguished herself as a professional administrator who is committed to fostering strong and effective relationships with students, staff, and parents. She is a strong advocate for special education inclusion and programming, restorative practices for school communities, and has a deep understanding of the PSIT process, supporting teachers in implementing effective interventions to improve student learning. Her knowledge of assessment, curriculum, and instruction has positioned her as a strong instructional leader throughout her career.  


Ms. Pinkerman earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in French with a Teaching Certificate from Gonzaga University, a Master of Education Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Lesley University, and a Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Idaho.

Chris Taylor, Principal, East Junior High School


Boise School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Chris Taylor as the new Principal of East Junior High School, effective the 2025-2026 school year.


Dr. Taylor has been a dedicated educator in Idaho’s public schools since 1993, serving in a wide variety of school and district-level positions. He currently serves as principal of Riverside Elementary School, a role he has held since the 2022-2023 school year. In addition, he has worked as the Boise School District’s Science & Sustainability Supervisor (2014-2022), leading initiatives to enhance STEM education, develop K-12 science curriculum, and launch the District Sustainability Committee.


Dr. Taylor brings extensive experience in both elementary and secondary education. He has served as an elementary school teacher at Liberty (2006-2011), Amity (1999-2003), Valley View (1995-1999), and St. Nicholas in Rupert, ID (1993-1995). His leadership journey includes roles as assistant principal at Shadow Hills Elementary (2003-2004) and principal at Pierce Park Elementary (2004-2006). He also taught secondary school science and AVID at South Junior High School (2011-2014), demonstrating his ability to support students across grade levels.


Beyond his work in schools, Dr. Taylor has contributed to the broader education community as an adjunct faculty member at Boise State University (2004-2014), teaching pre-service teachers in a variety of courses like Science Methods, Professional Inquiry/Capacity for Change,  and Classroom Management. He has also presented at numerous local, regional, and national conferences on science standards, instructional strategies, and sustainability initiatives.


Dr. Taylor’s commitment to student success extends to his leadership in curriculum development, professional learning, and instructional support. He is deeply invested in the District’s Student-Centered Instruction initiative, ensuring that each and every student receives the support, encouragement, and resources needed to thrive. He is also dedicated to advancing the District's Strategic Plan to prepare all students for success in college, career, and the global economy.


A recognized leader in science education, Dr. Taylor has received multiple prestigious awards, including Idaho’s Science Teacher of the Year, the Boise School District’s highest certified honor – the Red Apple Award – and the Inspirational Teacher Award at South Junior High School. He is also currently the National Science Teaching Association (NSTA) District Director for Idaho, Wyoming, and Montana.


Dr. Taylor earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education from Boise State University with an endorsement in science, a Master of Educational Administration Degree from the University of Idaho, an Educational Specialist Degree in Executive Leadership, and recently completed his Doctorate in Education at Boise State University.

Brett Twiss, Assistant Principal, Fairmont Junior High School


Boise School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Brett Twiss as the new Assistant Principal of Fairmont Junior High School, effective the 2025-2026 school year.


Dr. Twiss has dedicated the past 14 years to serving public school students in Idaho, bringing a wealth of experience as a teacher, instructional leader, and administrator. Since 2023, he has served as assistant principal at North Junior High School, where he has worked closely with students, staff, and families to foster a positive and responsive learning environment.


His leadership experience includes serving as principal of the Alternative Summer High School in the Boise School District (2023) and as a learning coach at Capital High School (2022 to 2023). Prior to these roles, he served as AVID coordinator and AVID 12 teacher (2017-2022) and as a social studies teacher at Capital High School (2015-2022). He has also taught social studies at Magic Valley High School and Wings Charter Middle School in Twin Falls, where he also served as lead teacher.


Dr. Twiss is a passionate and student-centered educator committed to the belief that every student can succeed when provided with the right support, resources, and guidance. He has been instrumental in fostering a student-centered learning system at Capital High School, leading the AVID site team to achieve school-wide goals, and helping the school earn recognition as an AVID School-Wide Site of Distinction. He has also designed and presented professional development at the school, district, and department levels to enhance instructional practices and support student achievement.


A well-respected leader, Dr. Twiss is known for his ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and families. He is dedicated to the Boise School District’s vision of preparing students for success in college, career, and life.


Dr. Twiss earned an Associate of Arts Degree in Secondary Education from the College of Southern Idaho, a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History/Social Studies in Secondary Education from Boise State University, a Master of Educational Leadership Degree from Northwest Nazarene University, an Educational Specialist Degree in Leadership and Organizational Development from Northwest Nazarene University, and a Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Educational Leadership from Northwest Nazarene University.

Lindsey Yundt, Math and Computer Science Supervisor, Boise School District


Boise School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Lindsey Yundt to serve as the District's Math and Computer Science Supervisor, effective 2025-2026 school year. With a career dedicated to mathematics education, Yundt brings extensive experience in instructional leadership, curriculum development, and teacher support, all aimed at improving student learning outcomes.


Yundt began her career serving students in the Boise School District as a secondary mathematics teacher, where she taught a range of courses, mentored new educators, and contributed to curriculum development. Since then, she has spent years researching, designing, and facilitating mathematics content and pedagogical professional development through Boise Schools, Boise State University, and the Regional Math Center. She has worked in over 20 Idaho school districts through grants and research projects, led programs in collaboration with all of the state’s Regional Math Centers, and partnered with national education organizations to design curriculum and instructional guidance for math teachers.


Most recently, Yundt has served as principal of Parma Middle School in Parma, Idaho (2023–present), leading a rural Idaho school district in fostering instructional growth, supporting teachers, and improving student outcomes. Her leadership experience includes guiding instructional change, implementing effective differentiation and intervention strategies, and building positive school cultures focused on student success.


A passionate advocate for high-quality math education, Yundt has studied K-12 mathematics deeply and has a comprehensive understanding of Idaho’s content and practice standards, progressions, fluency goals, and curriculum design. She has played a key role in shaping math instruction across the state—leading Idaho’s High School Math Badging Pilot, designing Tier 1 and Tier 2 differentiation and intervention programs, and working to align high school coursework with college and career pathways. As part of the Idaho Standards Review teams, she has helped refine state-level policies and standards to ensure students develop the critical thinking and problem-solving skills necessary for success.


Throughout her career, Yundt has worked with teachers at all levels to help them implement differentiated instruction and improve student engagement in mathematics. She understands the challenges teachers face in meeting the diverse needs of learners and has developed strategies that make differentiation accessible, effective, and manageable in a classroom setting. She believes that by providing educators with the right tools, collaborative opportunities, and instructional support, all students can access high-quality math education and achieve at high levels.


Yundt holds an Education Specialist (Ed.S.) in Executive Educational Leadership and a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction from Boise State University, along with an Idaho Education Credential for Superintendent and School Principal. She also earned a Graduate Certificate in K-12 Mathematics Consulting and a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics, Secondary Education from Boise State.


As Math and Computer Science Supervisor, Yundt will play a critical role in advancing the Boise School District’s strategic plan to prepare students for success beyond high school in career and in life. She will lead efforts to strengthen math and computer science education, ensuring students receive the foundational and advanced skills necessary for the workforce and higher education. With a strong background in instructional leadership, culture-building, and innovation, she will work to create engaging learning experiences that empower students and support teachers in their professional growth. Jonathan Zwainz, Assistant Principal, West Junior High School


Boise School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Jonathan Zwainz as the new Assistant Principal of West Junior High School, effective the 2025-2026 school year.


Mr. Zwainz is a dedicated and resourceful Idaho educator with extensive experience supporting students of diverse backgrounds and abilities in both traditional and non-traditional learning environments. He currently serves as the athletic director and a math teacher at Riverglen Junior High School, where he has been instrumental in leading instructional initiatives, supporting student success, and fostering a positive school culture.


In addition to his current role, Mr. Zwainz has gained valuable administrative experience as assistant principal for Boise Summer Alternative High School (2023), where he worked to create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment. His leadership responsibilities included providing instructional and athletic program supervision, supporting student and staff development, and managing student discipline and crisis situations with sound judgment and care.


A committed advocate for student achievement, Mr. Zwainz has held numerous leadership roles that reflect his dedication to education, including serving as an instructional leadership team member, math department chair, mentor teacher, AVID site team member, PBIS team member, and technology lead. Before becoming a teacher, he began his career in education as a substitute teacher and later as an EXCEL paraprofessional. These experiences have shaped his approach to education, providing valuable insights into supporting student success. His ability to build strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues has been a key part of his success in creating a supportive and collaborative learning environment.


Mr. Zwainz brings a strong background in curriculum and instruction, technology integration, and mentorship, with a focus on developing student-centered learning experiences that promote engagement and growth. His experience coaching football and track, supervising athletic programs, and mentoring student-athletes has further reinforced his passion for student development both in and out of the classroom.


Mr. Zwainz earned a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from the University of Idaho (2009), a Master of Arts in Curriculum & Instruction from Boise State University (2019), and an Educational Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Idaho (2022).
