Great Student Award: South Jr. High's Amalia Farrow Neiwirth is Helping People In Need Feed Their Pets

Amalia Farrow Neiwirth is a freshman at South Junior High School who is spending her free time helping people in need who have pets.

Farrow Neiwirth has been selected for BoiseDev’s Great Student Award — where one student each week is selected for a $200 scholarship based on their good deeds in the community — from helping others, volunteering, and more.

You can find Amalia near the Roads Skate Park most Mondays with bags of pet food. She waits there for people in need to come by with pets, ready to hand out dog food. Her project is called “Boise Pet Helpers” and in addition to providing free pet food, she sometimes gives out items like leashes and collars when available.

Amalia is young, but determined. When asked what she wants to do after graduation, she proudly states she wants to be a veterinarian.
