As we enter the first full week of the new school year, we want to extend a warm welcome to you, our students, families and staff members! The 2022-2023 school year brings with it a renewed commitment to learning for all students in the Boise School District. What's that mean for your child? September 6, 2022 Boise School Board Election
Make your voice heard by voting in the 2022 Boise School Board Trustee Election on or before Tuesday, September 6, 2022.
What is Your Plan to Vote?
VOTE ABSENTEE
When: August 1 - August 26

Completed absentee ballot request forms must be received by the District by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, August 26, 2022.

Where: Absentee ballots can be returned to the District Services Center, 8169 W. Victory Rd., Boise by Sept. 6th at 8:00 p.m. Request an absentee ballot by completing the Absentee Ballot Request Form.
VOTE EARLY
When: August 22 - September 2

Patrons may vote early at the District Services Center beginning Monday, August 22, 2022.

Where: District Services Center, 8169 W. Victory Rd., Boise. The District Services Center is open 8 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

VOTE IN PERSON
When: Election day is Tuesday, September 6, 2022. Polls are open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Where: You can vote at any polling location listed on the Trustee Election September 6, 2022 Polling Places document.

Borah Athlete Earns Bronze Medal in World Wrestling Championships
Aden Attao (pictured) recently competed in the 2022 U20 World Wrestling Championships held in Bulgaria.

The Borah High School Senior dominated his way onto the podium, winning the bronze medal at the US20 World Championships in Sofia, Bulgaria on Saturday, August 20, 2022. In his first World Tournament, Attao, only 17 years old, cruised past two-time age-group African champion Fekry Eissa of Egypt in his medal bout. The bronze for Attao gives the United States their 13th Junior World medal at heavyweight, as well as their fifth in nine years.

Boise School District has always been highly regarded for academic achievements. At the same time, we have always been considered a leader throughout Idaho and the Pacific Northwest in the area of athletics. Many of our programs have become models for other districts. Love Sports? Become A Certified Official!
Do you love sports and want to support our student-athletes? The Idaho High School Activities Association (IHSAA) certifies officials in the following sports: baseball, basketball, football, soccer, softball, track and field, volleyball and wrestling. All officials must be at least 16 years of age. To learn more, including how to register to become an IHSAA official, review How To Become an IHSAA Certified Official.

College & Career Counselors In The News
Boise School District is proud to provide a comprehensive college and career counseling program to benefit our secondary students. Recently, along with a colleague from Boise State University, the College/Career Counselors from Boise School District's five high schools - Boise [David Chehey], Borah [Jenni Kimball], Frank Church [Katie Omercevic], and Timberline [Donna Decker] presented a well-received session -- "Both Sides of the Desk: Best Practices and Improvements in Navigating the Challenging Landscapes of Admissions" -- at the Pacific Northwest Association of College Admissions Counseling's annual conference on May 25th. 

Held at Carroll College in Helena, MT, Robbie Cupps [Capital, retired] was also honored for her many years of leadership and service to the profession, and Mr. Chehey presented an additional workshop -- "Be Here Now: Self-Care Strategies and Resources for Admissions Professionals."
