Save the Date: Thursday, March 3rd Kindergarten Registration/Open House
Boise School District will provide free, full-day kindergarten district-wide beginning the 2022-2023 school year. On Thursday, March 3rd, 2022, each elementary school in the District will hold Kindergarten Registration/Open House from approximately 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. for incoming kindergarten students.  Check your neighborhood school's website for specifics.

Kindergarten Registration is an exciting time and one that is sure to benefit you and your child.

Is Your Child Ready for Kindergarten?
The Idaho Association for the Education of Young Children (IDAEYC) offers the following free workshops to prepare children, birth to age five, for school success. READY! for Kindergarten and Boise School District's Community Schools are partnering to bring free parent education workshops for families with children ages 0-5. Space is limited! Sign-up today!
The workshops will be held at the following elementary schools: Koelsch, Morley Nelson, Whitney and Whittier. You do not have to have children at those schools in order to attend. 
Kindness Matters: Longfellow Challenge Benefits Madison Students
Students from Longfellow Elementary School joined nearly 17 million youth in 115 countries in The Great Kindness Challenge from January
24-28, 2022. Longfellow's big kindness project was adopting Madison Early Learning Center, a special education school in our district that helps preschool-aged children. Watch the following video to learn more.
Riverside Elementary Girls Win City Basketball Championship
The Riverside Elementary School 5th and 6th grade girls won the city championship on Friday, February 11, 2022 by a score of 33 to 13 against Trail Wind Elementary School.

2021-2022 Winter Academic State Champions
The Idaho High School Activities Association is pleased to announce the 2021-22 winter sports/activities Academic State Champions. This award, sponsored by the Idaho Army National Guard, is presented to the varsity team in each classification that achieves the highest cumulative grade point average. The IHSAA congratulates the following Boise School District student-athletes for their outstanding academic achievement and commitment to excellence through athletics and activities.

Boise School District 2017 Bond Progress
On March 14, 2017, voters in the Boise School District overwhelmingly approved a $172.5 million dollar bond election. Slated to run through 2027, the bond will fund major construction projects across the entire district. Five years in, nearly 80% of the projected work has been completed by more than 300 architects, construction firms and sub-contractors. Thanks to Boise voters, our teachers, students and families will reap the rewards of this investment for years to come. Watch the following video to learn more.

  • Applications are due Friday, February 18, 2022 
  • In-district students will be screened at their neighborhood schools
  • Out-of-district students will be screened on 2/25/2022 at TVMSC at 10:00 a.m.

Students Compete in Invent Idaho Competition
For the fifth year in a row, Boise School District students are competing in the Invent Idaho Competition. A total of 60 District students competed in this year's competition. Watch the following video to learn more.

Because of the pandemic preventing holding an All-State Music Educators Conference last year, this year both last year's and this year's awards were presented.

Emergency Broadband Benefit
Emergency Broadband Benefit: The Emergency Broadband Benefit is an FCC program to help families and households struggling to afford internet service during the COVID-19 pandemic. Updated Health & Safety Plan
The Boise School Board has approved an updated Health & Safety Plan that, among other things, makes masks optional but not immediately. Implementation of the plan will be based on the following criteria, which, if met, means the plan will go into effect on Monday, March 28, 2022, the first day back from Spring Break:

  • Community transmission of infectious disease
  • Spread of infectious disease in our schools
  • Operational impact of employee & student absenteeism
  • Input from health care professionals
COVID-19 Vaccine & Testing Information
Boise School District is committed to our COVID-19 Response Plan to ensure we are able to continue to provide five-day-a-week in-person learning. Our COVID-19 Resources and Information website is regularly updated with important information, including a list of vaccine providers for adults and children, COVID-19 testing resources, required mitigation strategies, new quarantine and isolation guidance from CDC and CDH, and positive and presumed positive case data.
