CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) - PREVENTION & PREPARATION
When it comes to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), we want to reassure our parents, guardians, staff and community members that the Boise School District has a plan in place to keep our students and staff as safe as possible. We are working proactively and following the recommendations and guidelines of Central District Health (CDH).
Beginning on Monday, March 16, 2020, we will be providing daily (M-F) briefings at 4 p.m. on our
Coronavirus (COVID-19) Resource & Information webpage
and through the Boise School District’s Social Media accounts (
Twitter
and
Facebook
). The daily briefings will provide the most recent and updated information related to COVID-19 from the District. To stay informed, please be sure to take the time to review this daily information as well as the

EAST STUDENTS RECOGNIZED
Students from East Junior High School recently participated in a fundraising event to support the
Leukemia and Lymphoma Society
. The fundraiser was called Pennies for Patients and was held February 10-28. Students donated a total of $1,802.15. This donation drive was lead by East's leadership students and their advisor,
Christin Kaminsky
.

BORAH JROTC CADET RECEIVES NATIONAL RECOGNITION

Lars Nielsen
(pictured) from Borah High School JROTC is featured on the U.S. JROTC national
website
for earning his Eagle Scout Badge through service learning.
Cadet Lars Nielsen is in 8th Brigade’s Borah HS Battalion, B Company, Boise, ID. He is a sophomore at Borah High School and is a Cadet Staff Sergeant. He recently became an Eagle Scout through his project of painting over 100 fire hydrants across Boise. He had the help of his fellow JROTC Cadets, demonstrating leadership, citizenship and executing an outstanding service learning project.

TVMSC NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS
The
Treasure Valley Math & Science Center
Application process for those wishing to have their son or daughter considered for attending TVMSC starting in the 2020-2021 school year is now open!
As in past years, TVMSC will also offer two Orientation Nights for prospective families to attend and gain insights and information about TVMSC as an educational option for their children. Applicants should be students who are prepared to take advanced high school and college level classes, regardless of their current age or grade level in their other school.
- Parent Orientation Night will be held on Thursday, April 2nd from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m.

Don't think completing the 2020 Census is important? Think again! An accurate count helps support our students and programs. National Census Day is April 1st. Online access in Idaho will occur March 23.
An accurate count means funding for our education programs. From preschool programs up to universities, the 2020 Census will have an impact on the funding that our education systems receive. It’s up to you, and all of us, to be counted on April 1, 2020.
