Trustee candidates run district-wide and the two candidates with the most votes are elected.
To vote in the trustee election, voters must be 18 years of age, have lived in the District for 30 days and be registered to vote in Ada County.
Given health concerns related to the coronavirus pandemic and the need for physical distancing, the Boise School District has decided to limit the number of polling places and to encourage Absentee Voting for the September 1st, 2020 Trustee Election.
The Boise School District Clerk of the Board will mail Absentee Ballots from the District Service Center beginning August 3, 2020. Approximately 28,000 voters will be mailed an Absentee Ballot (identified as voters who requested an absentee ballot for the May primary, according to Ada County Elections).
The last day for requesting a mail-in absentee ballot from the Boise School District is August 20, 2020 to be received by the Clerk of the Board no later than 5:00 p.m. on Election Day September 1, 2020. Requests for Absentee Ballots must contain the name of the Elector, and the home address as listed with Ada County Elections. The Absentee Ballot can be mailed to an alternative address if the registration can be confirmed.
In-person early voting will begin on August 17, 2020 at the District Service Center (8169 W. Victory Rd., Boise, ID) and will end at 5:00 p.m. on August 28th, 2020.
