Now that school has started, we want to provide an update about some of the District procedures & information.
Illness Procedure: Recognizing that our community is currently in the Red Category for the spread of COVID-19, it’s more important than ever that we follow the Boise School District’s Illness Procedure, which includes a daily wellness check to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 in our schools.
If a student has any of the symptoms on the Illness Decision Tree, they can return to school after 10 days AND when their symptoms have resolved OR they have a negative COVID test OR with an alternate diagnosis from their healthcare provider.
Staying home when you have symptoms of illness protects the school community by preventing the spread of illness and allowing individuals the opportunity to rest and recover.
Mask Covering Procedure: Face coverings that completely cover the person's nose and mouth are required for all students, staff, and visitors while inside all District schools/facilities, including school buses. If there is a close contact to someone who has been diagnosed with COVID and both students are wearing a mask, the student who is considered a close contact will not need to be quarantined from school according to Central District Health’s K-12 School Quarantine Guidance. The District’s universal masking requirement is part of the District’s COVID-19 Response Plan that was approved by the Boise School Board. Review Boise School District Face Covering Procedure.
Athletic Protocols: Recognizing that athletics can play an important part in a student’s overall education experience, Boise School District has athletic protocols to keep our students, staff and fans safe as athletic events are held this fall. Review Boise School District’s Athletics Protocols.
Emergency Broadband Benefit: The Emergency Broadband Benefit is an FCC program to help families and households struggling to afford internet service during the COVID-19 pandemic. Eligible households can access the Emergency Broadband Benefit that provides a discount up to $50 per month toward broadband service. Learn more about the Emergency Broadband Benefit.
General Election (Virtual Day): Due to the large number of patrons that turn out for the general election, we will implement November 2, 2021 as a virtual learning day to help keep our staff and students safe.
