In Remembrance
The Senior Center will miss our friend Jeannette Bakanas, who passed away this month. Jeannette was a big story teller and sure loved to tell some tall tales for such a petite lady! As Jeannette always said, “Be good, but not too good, because what’s the fun in that!”

Holiday Treasures
Back in December, Carrie shared a large collection of holiday treasures that were handmade beaded ornaments, painted ornaments, and a ceramic village. Here are some additional holiday treasures of the Easter variety. All of these items were hand painted by her late grandmother-in-law. There are eggs of every style and it is impossible to pick a favorite! Enjoy!

The Brand New Chore Program!
The Senior Needs Assistance Program (Chore Program) has been on hold. We have decided to make significant changes to this program going forward and wanted to share more information about how to get involved.
We are excited to announce that as of April 1, 2021, we have entered into a partnership with a local non-profit organization called UR Community Cares, which is based in Manchester. UR Community Cares will match you with a local adult or teen volunteer for assistance with various tasks called Community Deeds. Click here for a list of many suggestions for the types of Community Deeds available to you!
You can sign up for UR Community Cares, either through your own computer or with help from a family member or friend. Senior Center participants without a computer will be able to sign up with the assistance of Senior and Social Services staff. Click here to find out how to sign up and request Community Deeds!
If you need help with a task that is more extensive than these Community Deeds, this will require the skill of a licensed professional. We encourage you to be a smart consumer when considering hiring an individual for work in your home. If you would like suggestions, the Town does not endorse any specific businesses, but we are happy to provide you with a list of local contractors that have been recommended by Bolton residents. In the event the cost of the service creates a financial hardship for you, please talk to the Director of Senior and Social Services to learn about applying for a Financial Assistance grant through the Resident Assistance Fund.
Please note: All participants must comply with social distancing guidelines.

Juke Box Bingo!
A Joint Program with Bentley Memorial Library, Bolton Recreation, and Bolton Senior and Social Services!
When: Saturday April 24 from 6-8 p.m.
Where: Over zoom!
Cost: FREE
We have changed the way you play bingo forever! No more numbers in our game, they’re gone! We have replaced the 75 numbers with 75 songs. On each bingo card, there are 25 song titles and no two cards are the same. As the game begins, we play 25 seconds of a song. The player then has name that tune, check their card, if it’s there, and mark it off. The first one to match the pattern of the game, yells BINGO! If a player doesn’t know the name of the song, we actually display it on the shared screen in Zoom.
Get your snack's ready and get the entire family involved!
