USL Winter Summit
The largest edition of the USL Winter Summit opened on Tuesday morning at the Renaissance Orlando at SeaWorld as the organization welcomed more than 750 team executives, staff members and technical staffs to the resort for three days to continue preparations for the 2020 USL Championship, USL League One and USL League Two seasons.
The annual event has become one of the most popular in the USL’s calendar, with tailored programming for attendees that offer insights, new ideas and discussion platforms in the areas of operations, ticketing, merchandise, communications and social media among others. “The Winter Summit is one of our most important events of the year,” said USL President Jake Edwards. “It not only offers the chance for all of us to reflect, assess and improve on another tremendous year across all of our leagues, but also for team executives and staff to gain valuable insight from their peers. After the fall high school soccer season, many awards are presented for outstanding play. the Boston Bolts are proud of all our high school players and want to mention a few of the players recognized this year. These are a few that we have heard about, let us know if you know of any others!!
The annual list of United Soccer Coaches High School All-New England honorees has been released, and 58 players from the region have been included. Out of midfielders, prep school star
(Wellesley) of Nobles was selected. Harry plays on the Bolts U19 Academy team. He is also an ISL League All Star and was also selected as MVP of the ISL. Roberts is set to play in the Ivy League, committed to Princeton.
from Scituate who plays for the Bolts East 2001 team, was also named All-New England.
Congratulations to Bay State League All Stars:
Liam Hopkins, Patrick Goodine and Dylan Kelley
from Newton North,
from Milton and
(also League Co-MVP) from Natick and Honorable Mention for
(Milville) DVC All Star.
Boston Herald All Scholastics include
(Bolts Central 02).
ISL All Stars include
(Belmont Hill) and
(Noble & Greenough),and Honorable Mention to
Congratulations to Milton High School junior midfielder
! Miguel has been named a Patriot Ledger All-Scholastic soccer player for the second straight year. He tallied 8 goals and 10 assists during the 2019 season. Miguel plays in the Bolts East 2001 team.
DA Winter Showcase WrapUp
The Bolts U-19 team had a strong showing down at the Winter Showcase, as it went 1-1-1 to end the fall season on a positive note. They first beat Virginia Development Academy, 2-1, before dropping a 1-0 match against Breakers FC and drawing Albion SC, 2-2.
Class of 2021 midfielder
(Acton) had a pair of goals, while Class of 2021 forward
(Woburn) marked his return from Nobles with a goal of his own. Bryant commit
(South Attleboro) also scored. Princeton commit
(Wellesley), who also played for Nobles in the fall, got reintegrated into the XI. One interesting development is the continued reliance on Class of 2022 midfielder
(Newtonville), who’s a 2004 birth-year player. Defender
(Newton) falls into the same bucket after featuring for Milton Academy in the fall.
Even though the Bolts U-17 team left Florida after a 3-0 loss against United Futbol Academy, a pair of 2-0 wins against Arsenal FC and Shattuck – St. Mary’s made it a strong trip overall. In the continued absence of
(Newton) due to injury, they heavily leaned upon
(Newton). A goalkeeper by trade, Class of 2022 prospect
(Weymouth) has also featured at forward and scored against Arsenal.
As far as some other uncommitted standouts to watch,
Lucas Vallejo Tato
(Revere) have all impressed.
