2nd Annual Sgt Michael Chesna Memorial Soccer Jamboree
was held on August 17th at Lovell Field in a Weymouth. The event is held in honor of Weymouth Police Officer, Michael Chesna, who was killed in July 2018 while protecting his community. Sgt. Chesna was a high school classmate of East Region Director Don Whitaker, and Don is the Event Director.
The event welcomed 82 teams from over 23 communities in a one day soccer jamboree. The event raised over $54,000 this year which brings the two year event total to just over $100,000. The money raised from the event is divided between the Chesna Family Fund, the Vera Adams Reading Room at the Weymouth Town Library, and to scholarships for students at Weymouth and Hanover High School who will be pursuing a college degree in Criminal Justice.
The Bolts support this event with a contribution each year and Don and his efforts in putting on this wonderful event to help his community and others honor Sergeant Chesna and the law enforcement community overall.
