Why are IDN Supply Chain Leaders so hard to get into?

Recently I saw a survey asking Suppliers what their biggest challenge is in this crazy healthcare contacting and sourcing market. The most common answer was “Access to IDN Decision Makers.” I could tell from the responses this struck a nerve for Suppliers, and they were at a loss as to why they couldn’t get an occasional meeting with Supply Chain Leaders. I thought I’d share my thoughts on why it is so difficult to get venue with IDNs today.

Companies say they’re investing more in U.S. manufacturing as tariffs go into effect


Since the start of President Trump’s second term in office, a number of corporations have announced plans to expand their production capabilities in the U.S., according to CBS News. Roche said on Tuesday it would invest $50 billion in the United States over the next five years, creating more than 12,000 new jobs, in the latest massive investment by companies reacting to President Donald Trump’s tariff policy, according to Reuters

How are hospitals bracing for tariffs?


Over the last few years, there has been increasing pressure on the U.S. health care system: this includes issues related to hospital staffing, as well as financial and operational challenges that have led to many health care facilities closing and reducing vital services like emergency and obstetric care, according to Time Magazine.


Now, the Trump administration’s tariffs place more strain on an industry already grappling with mounting financial and operational pressures, according to MedCity News. Even though Trump paused most reciprocal tariffs for 90 days last week, hospitals are still bracing for the effects of these trade regulations.
