A reminder of the new rates. To view the rate change table on our website please click HERE

The local newspaper reported the information incorrectly for the tax rate change - they reported 2 cents, that is not accurate, it is 1 cent.
To see a larger copy of the sample billing please click HERE
Calculation is – Assessed Value (Market value on bill) x .00415.
In this case it is $182,800 x .00415 = $758.62.
A ONE cent increase.
This is a great opportunity for everyone in and around our community!

You may be seeing an increase in police presence in your neighborhood as they step up the enforcement - simply SLOW DOWN!

CONGRATULATIONS TO CHERYL BUNDEK

After serving the City of Dover for a total of 31 years, Cheryl is set to retire on July 9th.
Cheryl started with the City of Dover the summer before her senior year of high school (1990) in a temporary position in the Finance Office.
In April of 1992 Cheryl was hired on as a part time employee in the Assessor's Office where she has stayed ever since! Over the years Cheryl grew into the Assessor role earning her AAS designation and became the first certified Assessor for the State of Delaware.
Cheryl and her husband Scott, combined have 3 children (Jared, Reed and Bryce), two dogs (Gus and Xavier) and one special little one that they all love to spoil, her granddaughter Abigail.
Cheryl and Scott own a little piece of heaven in St. Albans, Maine where they are hoping to get to spend a little more time at, that is when she isn't tied up at Station 302 Nutrition!
Cheryl and her friend Angie recently opened a nutrition drink shop located in the north Dover Shopping Center (near Redner's) at the end of February, making that her future retirement job.
So many around the city have had the pleasure of dealing with Cheryl over the last 31 years, she is definitely going to be missed.

BIG thank you to HOMESTEAD GARDENS. Homestead Gardens made a generous donation to the library this past week.
"On behalf of Homestead Gardens, we are pleased to support the Dover Public Library with the plants and pot you requested. We understand the important role libraries play in our lives. In addition to being a resource for learning, libraries also serve as a community center."
A special shout out to Mike Golec, General Manager, Doug Hall, who championed our request and Ashley Games, Green Goods supervisor, all of whom are located at their Smyrna store
