"Lessons from Dietrich Bonhoeffer in a House Divided and a World on Fire"

The wait is over!

We are delighted to have available for congregational use a curriculum by Dr. Lori Brandt Hale - "Lessons from Dietrich Bonhoeffer in a House Divided and a World on Fire." Dr. Brandt Hale is the President of the International Bonhoeffer Society - English Language Section, and a professor of religion at Augsburg University in Minneapolis.

It has been an honor and a joy to get to know Dr. Brandt Hale. Her work has helped us deepen our own understanding of how Bonhoeffer's theology helps us discover not concrete answers or an exact road map to follow, but rather inspires us to ask more faithful questions as we live at the intersection of faith and civic life together.

The facilitator's guide, participant workbook, and accompanying slides for each week can be found on our website and accessed for free. The core curriculum is a four-week module, with additional modules and resources to extend and adapt to your context and community. Sign up here to receive any follow-up resources and information about future Bonhoeffer events.

LAMPa and the International Bonhoeffer Society - English Language Section offer this curriculum as a gift to the Church. While this curriculum is free to use, we suggest a $200 donation to honor the scholarship of Dr. Brandt Hale and the work of the IBS-ELS in helping to craft this curriculum; though any amount your congregation or community can give is welcome and appreciated.

Let us know if you are using the curriculum in your community by tagging us @LAMPaAdvocacy on social media or emailing us at LAMPa@Lutheranadvocacypa.org

LAMPa is glad to help you as you explore this exciting and transformational resource. Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions about how to make this most effective in your community.

May we all be inspired to center the call of Christ to love our neighbors more deeply!

Sincerely,

Tracey and Pastor Erin

P.S. If you love this (and we know you will), save the date to join us and Dr. Brandt Hale at United Lutheran Seminary in Gettysburg on October 18-19 for a public lecture - "Hope in a Divided World: Dietrich Bonhoeffer's This-Worldly Christianity as an Antidote to Christian Nationalism."
