PUBLIC NOTICE: Adding Occupations to the Target Occupations List (TOL)
 
Southwest Florida Workforce Development Board, Inc. is soliciting input for the Targeted Occupations List (TOL) for Region 24 (Charlotte, Collier, Glades, Hendy and Lee counties). The TOL is used to determine which occupations are eligible for training reimbursement with Workforce Investment Act (WIA) and other workforce funds. RSW HAS BEST FEBRUARY EVER: Airport Traffic Report

 

During February, 862,899 passengers traveled through Southwest Florida International Airport, an increase of 4.3% compared with the same month last year. Year-to-date, passenger traffic is up 3.7% from the same period in 2013. The Lee County Port Authority reported the airport's best February in its 30-year history, despite 233 flight cancellations due to weather conditions throughout the U.S. READ MORE.

FEMA: Homeowner Flood Insurance Affordability Act Overview

On March 21, 2014, President Obama signed the Homeowner Flood Insurance Affordability Act of 2014 into law. This law repeals and modifies certain provisions of the Biggert-Waters Flood Insurance Reform Act, which was enacted in 2012, and makes additional program changes to other aspects of the program not covered by the Act. Many provisions of the Biggert-Waters Flood Insurance Reform Act remain and are still being implemented. READ MORE.
