Bonner & Prendie's Response to
COVID-19 Closures and Event Suspensions
March 16, 2020

Dear Parents of the Class of 2024 ,

As the newest members of our school community, I find it important to update you on measures being taken by our campus to continue academic studies and sanitize our facilities during this period of closure, as a result of increased COVID-19 concerns in our region.

On Friday, March 13th, our school received word from the Archdiocese of Philadelphia that “ALL high schools, parish and regional elementary schools, schools of special education, PREP programs, and early learning centers in the five-county Archdiocese will close through Friday, March 27, 2020.” This precautionary measure also includes the suspension of “all extra-curricular and co-curricular activities,” which has postponed several upcoming activities, such as our Freshman/Sophomore Hop, our PIAA State Championship Basketball Playoffs, the Annual Auction & Gala Fundraiser, and our Spring Musical “Hairspray.”

As a result, Bonner & Prendie is moving to Flexible Instruction via our online education portals beginning Tuesday, March 17th, 2020. In a letter from our Principal Mr. James Strandberg ‘97, he states that “our school teams have worked on their online curriculum implementation, as well as how to ensure effective, efficient communication with families. We are able to provide an educational opportunity that supports students’ 21st century skills.” Also in this letter, Mr. Strandberg highlights the expectations of our students and families during this time. His full letter can be found here.

As always, the safety of our families is top priority. During our two week closure, our school will be undergoing a deep cleaning by both our janitorial staff and external cleaning crews. Each classroom, office, and facility will be cleaned thoroughly over these two weeks.

I will continue to keep you informed as updates regarding COVID-19 procedures and precautions are communicated to our school community. During this challenging time, please know your families are in our prayers. Do not hesitate to reach out to our representatives. Our Admissions office will remain active from home! God Bless you during this difficult period.

All my best,

Mr. Patrick Walsh ‘12
