July 2023

More details to follow on Facebook and upcoming Bonsais, but please mark your calendars for these upcoming events. Please notice the annual HOA meeting date has been identified - plan to attend this important yearly meeting. It will be held at the firehouse on Henry Rd this year.

Open HOA Board Positions for 2024

We are looking for two more neighbors to join the Board for the 2024 year (duties beginning in January). The Board meets generally meets once a month for 2 hours and then will have varying time commitments outside of the meeting time. The group as a whole is fun loving folks who are committed to helping each other and the neighborhood we love.

Each year, we need a new member who can commit to serving three years. The succession plan is joining as VP for year 1, then as President in year 2, then as Trustee for year 3. For the 2024 year, we are in need of a VP and a Treasurer. The position of Treasurer is not mandated to commit to a specific time period but there are benefits to someone serving for more than one year from a knowledge perspective. Our current treasurer is ready to help make a new person's transition into the role as smooth as possible.

Please carefully consider if this is something you could help with. Without committed Board members, it would be impossible to keep doing all the things that our neighborhood has grown accustomed to.. both fun activities and the necessary logistics to keep us running. Any of the Board members are available to talk specifics with anyone who's interested.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the following neighbors for the extra efforts they've made to help make our pool extra special this year!

First up is the man behind our beautiful new pool mural that adds whimsy and creativity and I'm sure brings a smile to all who see it. This mural was the creation of Tony Dimattia. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Also, thank you to Maxine Thomas Maxine saw a task that needed doing and stepped up to volunteer to hose down the pool deck in the mornings before the pool opens.

Thank you as well to Jacki Puglisi who donated beautiful flowers to help brighten our pool areas!

Neighbors, have you seen someone else going above and beyond that we should recognize? Please let us know by email [email protected]

Keeping Glan Tai Beautiful

As a friendly reminder, we all play a role in keeping our neighborhood in top looking shape. We do that on a regular basis by ensuring our own lawns and home exteriors are in good condition. Following the guidelines regarding things like how long our trash cans stay out at the curb also helps. Please also remember that we, the humble members or your HOA board, are not the creators or enforcers of such rules. Our neighborhood abides by the guidelines set forth by the city of Manchester. If you have a concern with a neighbor's space, we suggest having a direct conversation with your neighbor first. If that is unsuccessful, then the next course of action is Manchester's code enforcement team. You can also contact our alderman, Rich Baumann, if you have questions about Manchester's codes and rules.

Pool Maintenance Helpers

Neighbors, can you spare a little time over the summer to support the maintenance and beauty of our pool. The pool committee is requesting sign-up for the following tasks?

  • Trash checks
  • Chemical checks
  • Bathroom cleaning/restocking supplies
  • Daily cleanup of pool noodles/innertubes

Please contact Gaby at 314-853-9532 or [email protected] if you can help with some of these needed pool tasks.

Parents, it's most appreciated if you can help cleanup after your kiddos eat on the upper deck. Fun fact.. mushed, dried bananas on the furniture and concrete are no fun.

What's the Board Been Working On?

Here are some of the items that we've been working on since we last shared:

  • Organized the Spring Cleanup Day
  • Pool Opening Logistics and Festivities
  • Tree care: removal of two precariously leaning trees in Common Ground B and one dying Ash near the parking lot
  • Family Night at the pool
  • Adult Night at the pool
  • Begin recruitment for new Board Members

New Neighbors?
Do you know of any neighbors that do not receive the Bonsai due to not having an email address or being new to the neighborhood? Please print them a copy or refer them to any member of the board and they can assist with getting current information to them.
Let's Light Up Glan Tai
Let's keep those porch lights on overnight! It does help our neighborhood look more alive and secure.
