We’re taking a SPOOKY eNewsletter break this week! Instead of a full newsletter, haunt the Latest News and Major Projects sections of our website at ashlandoregon.gov. Plenty of treats in there, no tricks.

Once your sugar crash has passed, add two things to your to-do list for the weekend:

  • Weigh in on the Transportation System Plan update. This 20-year vision for how people get around Ashland is just getting started, and we’re at the beginning of a two-year engagement period. Take the survey and tell us what you think! ashlandoregon.gov/TSP.
  • Vote, vote, vote! Your November 3 ballot has a twist: no position numbers. Council and Park Commission candidates are elected at large, so vote for four Councilors and three Commissioners. Meet the candidates at ashlandoregon.gov/Elections.

Here is our latest Curiosity Question!

Q: Can bicycles still make the left turn from Oak Street onto Van Ness Street through the delineators if they can do so safely?

A: No. The delineators restricting left turns from Oak Street onto Van Ness Street were installed following a recommendation from the Transportation Advisory Committee, which was discussed over the course of more than a year. The delineators are part of a pilot program. Bicyclists must follow the same applicable traffic laws and turn restrictions as motor vehicles and may not make a left turn through the delineators where that movement is restricted.

The Oak Street Rehabilitation Project will include more substantial improvements to the corridor and provide an opportunity to evaluate additional changes.
