The Children's Trust Book Club ITN Released *

The Children’s Trust Book Club offers free, monthly books by mail for children living in Miami-Dade County from birth through their 5th birthday. Parents register for monthly books in English or Spanish, along with special sets of Haitian Creole language books. Mailings include a parent guide with activities, information and suggestions on how to share the book with their children. Currently, the Book Club serves almost 50,000 young children throughout Miami-Dade County, with a membership goal of 60,000 by the start of the new funding cycle.

This competitive solicitation is seeking one or more vendors to provide the following services in support of the Book Club: content development, book buying, fulfillment (packaging and mailing) services, digital content creation, and related community events to engage book club families.

No-Cost Training Fundamentals of Child CBT at UM

The Child and Adolescent Mood and Anxiety Treatment (CAMAT) program at the University of Miami is excited to offer a 10-week, 10-hour live virtual training series, called Fundamental of Child CBT: An Introduction to the Unified Protocol for Transdiagnostic Treatment of Emotional Disorders in Children and Adolescents (UP-C and UP-A). Through a generous gift from the Batchelor Foundation, it is able to offer free registration and continuing education (CE) credits (where applicable) to South Florida-based mental health providers and trainees. US HHA Grants for Connecting Kids to Medicare and Medicaid

Miami-Dade County Dept. of Cultural Affairs Community Grants Program

The Community Grants (CG) Program is responsive on a quarterly basis to nonprofit organizations developing small and large-scale community-based cultural (dance, theater, music, visual arts) programs, as well as projects and events, such as fairs, parades, neighborhood festivals and publications that have a strong artistic component.

The CG panel considers projects with strong community involvement and/or outreach component. The CG Program is particularly sensitive to the needs of indigenous cultural neighborhood activities and projects encouraging the preservation of heritage, traditions and culture, as well as social service organizations and cultural groups developing collaborative intervention projects using the arts. United Way Miami Grants for Education and Health & Wellbeing

United Way Miami is pleased to announce two opportunities for funding in the areas of Education and Health & Wellbeing. The Education RFP is focused on programs working with youth that are involved in the juvenile justice system and other related juvenile diversion systems. Funding is available for up to $153,000 for one fiscal year beginning July 1. The Health & Wellbeing RFP focuses on programs providing congregate and home delivered meals to the older adult population. Funding is available for up to $135,000 for one fiscal year beginning July 1. Applications will only be accepted from agencies that have been determined by the Internal Revenue Service to be categorized as organizations for a charitable cause – most commonly referred to as 501(c)3 organizations. Assistant Site Director: Responsible for efficiently and effectively delivering programs and services directly affecting Breakthrough Miami Scholars and families. An ASD oversees campus or site logistics, unpaid student volunteers, and some stipended positions, such as Teaching Fellows. As an ambassador of the program, the ASD builds supportive relationships with students, parents, schools, the community, and other stakeholders to ensure the academic and socio-enrichment success of all Breakthrough Scholars. 

Summer Instructional Coaches: Summer Instructional Coaches (ICs) are experienced and successful professional educators who provide content specific support for BTM Teaching Fellows throughout the summer and engage fully in the BTM community. ICs dictate the level of academic rigor during Breakthrough Miami’s summer program through their interactions with Teaching Fellows. They effectively communicate content specifics to Teaching Fellows, guide Fellows through effective planning and execution, and hold both Fellows and students to the highest standards. ICs are expected to lead department meetings, visit Fellows’ classes at least twice a week, evaluate lesson plans and curriculum overviews, and meet individually with Fellows regarding their on-going work. Since ICs are the only professional teachers on-site, they are accountable for the quality of instruction students receive, and are responsible for supporting BTM Teaching Fellows through their teaching experiences. This position will begin on June 7, 2025 and will end on August 1, 2025.

Summer Site Coordinators: Summer Site Coordinators (SSCs) are critical members of the summer administrative team and help ensure the smooth and safe operations of the Summer Institute at their assigned site. SSCs train, coordinate and oversee volunteers; supervise the summer food service program for Scholars and staff; order and keep an inventory of program supplies; coordinate general office administration; manage the Scholar drop off and pick up process; and assist with the execution of special events. This position will begin on June 7, 2025 and will end on August 1, 2025.

Summer Assistant Site Directors: Summer Assistant Site Directors (SASDs) work collaboratively with full-time directors at their assigned site to ensure a successful Summer Institute; and work closely with Scholars and their families, as well as Teaching Fellows to ensure their needs are met. SASDs assist with the coordination and management of student attendance and reporting; management of student information in the Breakthrough Miami student database; student discipline and conduct; Teaching Fellow training and professional development; implementation of the Teaching Assistant program; preparation of major events, including Visitors Day, Family Night, and other events as scheduled; and program evaluations during the final ten days of programming. This position will begin on June 7, 2025 and will end on August 1, 2025.
