Important Update: The Caregiver Helpbook

Hello, Master Trainers and Class Leaders!

The vibrant colors of summer have finally given way to the golden, warm tones of autumn. I hope the season has started well for you and your communities.

At PTC HQ, it has been a busy month. In September alone, we had around 70 class series taking place worldwide. We welcomed five new Master Trainers (representing three different countries) and nearly 40 new Class Leaders. Whether this is your first newsletter as a Class Leader or you've been part of the PTC community for years, thank you for being here and being part of Powerful Tools for Caregivers.

We continue to move forward with pilot testing new and updated information to maintain the evidence-based outcomes associated with PTC. One of these changes is an updated book to go alongside your 6-week class series. As we move forward with additional edits and publishing, it has become clear that we will run out stock of physical copies of The Caregiver Helpbook before the new companion guide is released.

It is estimated that sometime this month, the stock will be depleted. We are unable to print additional physical copies of The Caregiver Helpbook, as we are in the process of publishing the updated workbook. When we officially run out of stock, we will only have eBook licenses available for purchase for participants.

I know this is a disappointing and disheartening message to receive. The Caregiver Helpbook is a beloved resource for caregivers and facilitators alike. It is a treasure trove of resources and comfort, and I know that many prefer the physical book to the eBook. This is not a "forever" decision. We are eager to present the newest edition to you as soon as possible.

If you have any questions or concerns about the book affiliated with PTC, please do not hesitate to reach out (ptcaregivers@iastate.edu). I welcome the opportunity to hear your concerns and receive feedback. I will share more updates with you all as I am able.

With continued gratitude and respect,

Katie Anthony, Ph.D.
