It's time to book your Saturday night dinner place!
The Saturday Night Party & Industry Social

Join fellow delegates and the faculty team for a welcome drink and sit-down meal followed by the infamous SCBWI British Isles’ Mass Book Launch, celebrating all the books our members have launched over the last three years, plus the presentation of the Crystal Kite Award. A great way to wind down and socialise with faculty and fellow authors and illustrators. And who could miss the amazing MBL cake?!

Dressing up for the party is now very much a thing, and this year’s theme is All Things Manchester. With such a wide theme, anything goes, whether it’s a small nod or a full-blown costume.

(Prices are offered to attendees at a highly-discounted rate, subsidized by SCBWI).

Spaces are limited so don’t delay and BOOK NOW!
The Friday Fringe

The Fringe is the perfect way to settle in for the weekend with two free afternoon sessions (a sketch crawl or scrawl crawl) and an informal dinner social in the evening at Brewdog Manchester (tickets are £20 to include food and your first drink). Come and meet your fellow conference goers whether old friends or soon to be new ones.

You might even find yourself sitting next to some of our industry faculty!

Deadline 10 October

Come and join us for an exciting new pitch event on Saturday afternoon in a brand-new, super entertaining format – think a cross between blind date and speed pitching. There will be opportunities for illustrators and authors for all age groups.

If you are an author, author/illustrator or illustrator who is attending the conference and you are willing to get up on stage and pitch your work to agents & editors in front of an audience, why not apply for your chance to win a 1-2-1 review with an agent or editor and hook them with your book!

Click below for details on how to apply. Don’t delay – the closing date for submissions is midnight on Monday 10th October.
Sketchbook Exhibition

Deadline 10 October

Often the most creative and experimental work happens between the covers of your sketchbooks and notebooks and we hope to present an intriguing look into the creative process in our Illustration Wall of sketchbook work to be displayed in the Business School throughout the SCBWI conference.

This is a free opportunity to get your work seen and start conversation and we are currently open for submissions.

Click below for full details on what and how to submit.

The deadline is Monday 10th October.

Professional
1-1 Reviews

Deadline 12 October

An industry professional 1-1 review can be the most valuable 15 or 20 minutes of your conference! You, your portfolio / first ten pages of your manuscript, and an agent, art director or editor providing direct feedback and constructive criticism.

Get your work seen and critiqued by one of our industry professionals, including Emma Layfield, Hachette UK; Katie Blagden, the Bent Agency; Arabella Stein, the Bright Agency; and Art Director, Ness Wood among many others!

Click below for full details and to secure one of the last remaining slots. Bookings close on Wednesday 12th October.
