Capacity Crowd Attends Conversation with
Legal Scholars
University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School Professor Kermit Roosevelt III discussed his new book, “The Nation That Never Was: Reconstructing America’s Story” with his colleague and mentor Yale Law Professor Akhil Reed Amar on April 23rd with a capacity audience at JHC's Wachenheim Center. The two legal scholars talked about our government's historical reliance upon and invocation of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution while debating whether the Gettysburg address was a more appropriate guiding document for our addressing equality and social justice in our country. Get ready for a bespoke bite of American history while enjoying a lesson on how to make a classic Negroni at the Jay Mansion with author and culinary historian Max Tucci!

Tucci’s family reenergized the iconic restaurant Delmonico's in the 20th century. Saved from demolition, the historic landmark has been preserved. Tucci's book is a beautiful ode to that era of top notch elegance in fine dining. We'll be sipping and tasting history. Take a sneak peek by watching the video below.
