It has now been nine weeks and a day since we have had a customer inside Maria’s Bookshop. Yikes! While the circumstances surrounding those nine weeks and a day have been severely challenging in many ways, we still have so much to be grateful for at Maria’s. Two things in particular stand out in my mind.
First and foremost, we are eternally grateful to each and every customer who has supported us during this closure. You’ve been patient as we've endlessly adapted our practices, excited as we’ve worked through our remodel, and generous in your support of our Keep Kids Reading program. I truly cannot thank you enough.
And second, I am thrilled about the progress we are making with our remodel. While there’s still plenty left on the list, we are getting very close to being able to have customers back in the store. Stay tuned for an update early next week with our re-opening date.
Of course, I want nothing more than to invite everyone in for a dance and celebration, but that will not be happening anytime soon. Our top priority as we start to re-open will of course be to protect the safety of our staff and customers. We will have plenty of protocols in place to keep the books clean and our store safe - the square dance can wait.
I can’t wait to see you soon!
