Greetings From The Library Staff

Dear Friend,

As we near the end of the year, I would like to take a moment to thank you and all the many other supporters of our small library for keeping us buzzing. In spite of the many uncertainties in the world 2022, we had a positive year with lots of excellent programs and, of course, great reading. We hope to continue to provide our patrons with all the services and activities you expect from us. As always, we welcome your thoughts and ideas on how we can do more and better.

With warm wishes for the holidays and the new year,

Your friendly library staff

Family Fun

First Friday: Holiday Family Photo Op

Friday, Dec. 2, 5-7 p.m.

Families are invited to join the Friends of the Library for a festive holiday photo op in the lower level meeting room. We provide the backdrop, props, and lighting, and you provide the subjects (pets OK, too!) and the camera. Fabulous opportunity to get that special photo ready for your holiday cards.

Also be sure to stop by and enjoy music by Grace Notes brass band on the porch, as well as caroling by the girl scouts.

Please bring garden clippers, if you have them, and garden gloves (some of the plant material is prickly!).

Staff Reading Suggestion

One of my favorite contemporary children’s authors is the writer and illustrator, Kevin Henkes. My children and I were introduced to his work via Lily’s Purple Plastic Purse featuring a cast of adorable and somewhat humanoid mice, including Lily, an exuberant first grader with a treasure she’s dying to share with her class. Henkes’s delightful picture books reveal a deep, loving understanding of children’s lives, their joys and their worries. Henkes is the winner of the 2020 Children’s Literature Legacy Award. Children ages 0-8 and their caregivers will enjoy his books.

For more about Kevin Henkes, check out his website.
