Park View Veterinary Hospital Tips for Pet Owners
How common are ear infections in Pets?
Infection of the external ear canal (outer ear) is one of the most common types of infections seen in  pets. It is called otitis externa. Some breeds, particularly those with large or hairy ears are more prone to  ear infections, but they may occur in any breed.

What are the symptoms of an ear infection?
Ear infections are painful. Many pets will shake their head and scratch their ears trying to get the debris  and fluid out. The ears often become red and inflamed and develop an offensive odor. A black or  yellowish discharge commonly occurs. Head shaking and scratching can also cause broken blood vessels  in the ear flap called an ear hematoma, which may require surgery. Chronic ear infections can penetrate  the eardrum and may result in an internal ear infection and permanent hearing loss.

If your pet is experiencing any of these symptoms, call Park View Vet to make and appointment  973-263-5600.

2018 Holiday Wreath Design Project

Even though it's only July, it's never too early to start thinking about the holiday season! Boonton Main Street's design team is looking for donations for their annual wreath project. These wreaths are decorated and hung along Main Street to bring holiday cheer to Boonton's business district.

Our goal is to transform 12 wreaths  for the 2018 holiday season, and each wreath costs about $80. Help us reach our goal of $1,000! Over time wreaths wear in quality, but through hand decoration, our design team can sustain them. While a few have already been made, we need funds to continue. The more we raise the more wreaths we can make!

Click here to donate! We thank you for supporting our initiatives to beautify Main Street!
