Help the Cornelia Initiative!

The Cornelia Initiative is a fundraising initiative working to launch a revamped Cedar Hill After School program. The program, which was the only low income after school program in the Boonton area, served 30-40 students (K-6) annually who greatly benefited from the after school environment as well as weekly mentorship from high school "Bigs" (through an affiliation with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northern NJ). Cedar Hill declared bankruptcy du
e to slashes in federal grants, a lack of profitable fundraisers, and not enough outreach to donors. The Cornelia fund is planning to create another after school program at the same place (St. John's Episcopal Church) for the same price to families, but with a new management and structure. The Cornelia Initiative must raise a certain amount of money by the end of the summer (around $20,000) to allow a program to sustain itself for the 2017-2018 school year and beyond.

BMS Fundraisers
A Place For the Community At the Post Office Is Coming Together!!

Have you seen that the Boardwalk is now empty? BMS has now relocated the Information Kiosk to the large open space in front of the Boonton Post Office. This new location is being updated to allow visitors to be informed of events and business promotions in our downtown area. This  "information plaza" for Post Office customers, residents and downtown visitors alike has begun to take shape and we couldn't be more excited! We want to thank all who volunteered their time to move the kiosk and install the benches: Brian Noodt,  Patrick Joyce,  Jimmy Hodgins,  Jayme Januszanis,  Kieran Byrne, John Castronovo,  Mark Hettrick,  Marta Pascarella
Kristin Petry,  Suzanne Guerin,  Ernie Austin and  Dave Woodhull.

Follow us as we continue to work on the plaza!

We hope that you will contribute to this project and help improve the historic Boonton downtown district. We have extended the funding for this project to August 2017.  If you are interested in being part of this initiative please donate here.
